I'm afraid this isn't the cheapest 512Gb SSD in the Universe, the planet Zog have them on offer at 8 yellow this month and that includes postage. this is a good find any way.

How old is it?

Specifications indicate it's very up to date. No problem with Toshiba-badged SSDs, they make SSD stuff for other reputable brands (idk if it's components or entire drives but lots of SSD stuff is actually Toshiba)

I'd buy this - the price is really excellent... At this capacity, at this price, stop waiting for it to drop further - Buy this SSD!

Edit: I have only two criticisms: It's 9.5mm thick where all the other have gone 7mm by now and it's not the most frugal on Wattage.

They do a 7mm one too. The advantage of this one (small mind) is that is has thermal pads on both sides of the PCB rather than just the controller side on the 7mm one.

Good price. Everything I own already has a SSD so can't justify upgrading at the moment. Nice to see the prices are still dropping.

Probably with the option of a super-saver delivery, which means you need to order 5 days in advance to get it for no delivery charge.

I may be wrong but I'm sure Seagate make Toshiba's HDD's and SSD's. Not sure how true that is though!

21 Aug 2014 - 11 Oct 2014 delivery date, it is like futures market in investment banking! Very cheap price to stalk Overclocker. Very hot and attractive pricing when 500GB Toshiba SSHD SATA hard disk is £53 from Amazon.
