      Jeeez... I totally give up!

      Good deal why cold?
      OP 15.50 x 24 = 372 :p

The point is to get the phone mega cheap.
If you buy this sim-free for £370 do you have a data package? Bloody hell...

I'm kind of with "Huh" here. I keep seeing these "deals" for data-less smartphones and they're not actually that good, because even after adding a cheap GiffGaff sim or other sim-only deal back in to the mix you're back up to standard prices and any money saved is negated.

A low price doesn't always make a good "deal" IMO

      WOW.

Getting it sim-free + sim only deal = £370 + sim only deal.
Getting it likes this + sim only deal = £322 + sim only deal.

People need to think before they comment or vote.

It is a good deal but only if you can get the bolt on removed and the cashback on top.

Plus you're only paying 15.50 a month (which most can afford)
Instead of 370 all in one hit

@cejiogu1 - I understand that £322 is less than £370 but by the time you've ended up spending the unavoidable PAYG credits or adding a sim-only deal onto the thing then how much have you spent? When it comes to mobiles like this the total cost of ownership factors in more than just the initial purchase price

Why is the cashback included in your deal price, this should be amended to £372 as cashback is never guaranteed.

Ok look at it this way
      30.00 p/m gives you 750mins 5000texts 500mb = £720.00
which is about the going rate for the phone + half a decent quota (although 500mb is not really enough)

      Or

      This deal
      7.50 gives me 600mins 500texts 3GB data + unlimited landlines
      7.50 x 24 = 180 + 320 = 500

      Which would you choose?

If you see the calculations - the £372 is by taking the bolt on off and before the cashback - the cashback element takes this to £322.

This leads me to my question - which I have posted before on these threads but am yet to receive a reply

So I'm a little confused with this - some people state that O2 changed the T&Cs and you can't get rid of the data bolt on - however others state that you can and they have done since March when these changes supposedly took place.

I've enquired with O2 and according to their online staff you can remove the bolt ons - so whose is right and who is wrong?

      You answered your own question.
      You CAN remove bolt ons.

O2 will still allow you to remove of the bolt-on
However since March 12 they've stopped you downgrading the contract after 12 months
Worth mentioning though, its advisable to get it in writing from a third party seller, that you can remove the bolt-on, without penalty.

Deals posted should only show what you are paying for the duration of the contract, cash back is outside of the scope of mobile contracts and should be omitted from the overall deal price as it is not always payed.

O2 did change their tariffs however Bolt Ons are removable:

      Pay Monthly Bolt Ons Terms
      General

We reserve the right to withdraw or amend these Bolt Ons and/or the terms on which they are offered to you at any time. They are Additional Services (as defined in your Pay Monthly Mobile Agreement).
You have to give us 30 days notice if you want to cancel your Bolt On or Bolt Ons by calling the Customer Service number on your monthly bill.
Bolt Ons are available through our stores, My O2, our online store and some indirect channels.
Any Bolt On inclusive allowances will be taken before your standard Pay Monthly tariff inclusive minutes, messages and/or data.
If the Distance Selling Regulations apply, once your Bolt On is activated you will not be able to cancel under the Regulations. Your statutory rights are unaffected.
