Never realised you could buy some of this stuff online.
Tablets I buy regularly from Chemist £7.99
Same tablets on this site £3.99 + £2.95 shipping
So about a £1 saving.

Real savings to be made if your order is over £45 and free shipping.

Voted hot and thanks to the OP, good find.

I think you have to look at the bigger picture lumoruk. There are a lot of people who have to get medicines on a regular basis and also have to pay for their prescriptions.

In a lot of cases it may be cheaper to buy medicines from an online company like this.

I put one example in my post up there ^^^^^^^^, I am sure there are many many more.

Postage is a pain but it does need to be factored in to the total cost :)

But if you order in bulk most of the medicines I use only have a year expiry on them ;-) and if you're spending more than £45 you might as well go the full hog and get a 3 month pre-payment card and get as many prescriptions in that time period to last you a year

"People who have to pay for more than 3 prescription items in 3 months, or 14 items in 12 months, could save money by buying a PPC. From 1 April 2008, the charge for a single prescription item is £7.10, whereas a 3-month PPC will cost you £27.85 and a 12-month PPC £102.50. The most convenient way to pay for your 12 month PPC is by Direct Debit meaning you can spread the yearly cost over 10 monthly instalments."

Short expiry dates on medicines are a laugh.

On one hand they say you should never use out of date medicine as it could be dangerous. So what do they do with the expired meds? Send them to Africa. So you can only conclude that the goods are given short date to squeeze more money out of the west - or pharmicos like to kill black people.

Sorry, yes you are right on the PPC's of course and I already do that.
What I actually meant was medicines not available by prescription.

Apologies, I worded the post wrongly.

Coding on medicines is abyssmal at the best of times, I seriously question whether the wholesalers actually rotate their stock on a regular basis.

Anyway whichever method is used any savings on pharmacy items has got to be good, rip off merchants that the manafacturers are :x

Take care :)

They bin them actually. They go in a big bag and get picked up by the wholesaler for destruction, it would be extremely unethical for them to try and re-sell them to africa.

Drugs are given short shelf lives because drugs, preservatives and other excipients break down over time, because liquids go a bit weird over time (precipitating, caking, going gritty, etc.) and because people store them badly (in hot, humid bathrooms). Some of the shortest shelf lives on new products exist because we don't know how long they'll last, some exist because some drugs are extremely unstable, especially when formulated as a liquid. Medicines are formulated to be active at the dose given, if the dosage will change over time (either due to break-down of the drug or changes in availability) the medicine becomes ineffective in many people.

Something like paracetamol and ibuprofen tablets last years but you can't carry that over to amoxicillin suspensions.

:x Caution with this website - they are very poor at meeting delivery times, do not keep you informed of any delays and do not reply to emails :pirate:. I have had to wait 4 days just to get a despatch/tracking code and it doesn't even work! They strongly suggest that they will turn your order around in 24 hrs, and state that if you get your order to them by 1400hrs, you will probably get the package by 1030 the next day. Absolute tosh, package still hasn't arrived, so now looking at tomorrow morning and that will be the 5th day. To be honest I'm not keeping my fingers crossed for tomorrow! Voted cold.

I ordered at 12:45 on the 17th and it still says "being processed".

Very slow! Mind you they were quick to take payment
#24
Mine still aint been delivered , was ordered friday plus they took 2 lots of same payment out of account and still not refunded for the extra payment..not a happy bunny !
#25
Order sent 7may and have heard nothing since, except the automated Order Confirmation.

Have sent 4 emails over last 10 days and have had NO response at all!

Tried the phone number, was either engaged or on permanent hold.

Looks like I will have to do a Credit Card Charge back just to get my money back as they refuse to respond to any communication.

Maybe I've just been unlucky with this site but my advice would be to AVOIDE this web site at all cost.

They mention on their web site “As Seen On TV” - was this BBC Watchdog?
If it wasnt it soon wil be looking at the above posts.
