You'll also need a shed as chickens should still be inside due to the bird flue outbreak last year.

Didn't anyone explain the 'birds and bees' to you? If you can get chicks from unfertilised eggs, you're a miracle worker. oO

If you get free range eggs dont rule it out as there is often cockerel with the hens thats slipped through net when chick
Surprisingly they survive been refrigerated know to have got 3 or 4 chicks from dozen eggs
We keep chickens as have over hectare of land and cockerel so have our own fertilized eggs
