Another fine example of Greggs ever more sophisticated fat-delivery systems. So what to I do for breakfast on Monday now - 2 of these or a coffee and beakfast Sub: http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/620681/free-regular-6-breakfast-when-you-b ?

(off-topic alert)

Damn that pic makes me hungry...
#3
The worst pastry i have ever eaten!! Very poor quality / value for the money. The likes of Morrisons Pie Shop pies are 500 times better and alot cheaper too
#4
Was in mine the other week it used to be a bakers oven I asked for a sausage roll which they used to be nice when it was a bakers oven, but now that they have changed over they taste crap :x
#5
ha ha ha cold.
#6
Greggs sausage rolls and pies are the best. This is a great offer. I will be buying loads of these I think. Hot deal.
#7
" The Greggs " hot form me
#8
Tasteless rubbish. Greggs is probably the worst food outlet on the high street. I am suprised they haven't gone bust; the food is dreadful and the service terrible.

Cold from me. Better pies and pasties in the supermarket.
#9
Tasty greatness. Greggs is probably the best food outlet on the high street. I am surprised they haven't shut down competitors; the food is fantastic and the service remarkable.

HOT from me. Cant get better pies and pasties in the supermarket.

 Great humour from you Niz.
 But it's still bad pies from Greggs.

Fairly average taste. Greggs is probably the most average food outlet in the high street. I am not suprised they have remained on the high street in exactly the same position when comapared with their competitors, the food is ok and the service is moderate.

No vote from me. The pies and pasties in the supermarket are about the same quality.

thing is though I go greggs if im randomly out somewhere, I feel hungry, I go greggs! or whatever bakery is nearby, cheaper than other fast food. I only go supermarket to do my shopping. I think that's how most Fast Food make their money, convenience. Its like whenever pies are posted, of course there are better, im sure people are aware, but its a huge effort to go get them, you cant have the best food for every meal, you just make do, and when you do get good quality, see it as a treat:thumbsup:.

Admittedly I rarely go to any fast food mainly because of cost, cheaper to pack lunch.

Theres always a lot of hate on here for Greggs and Sayers . To me a pies a pie I don't expect the staff to do much other than put a pasty in a bag ! The one by me always has a tasty bird working in it so thats a bonus '.

The fat is quite high, but the calories is low enough.
#25
They are £1.09. not a bad price for 2 pasties.
#26
Mass produced garbage. I used to work in the Greggs factory.

Not if you eat two. That'll be 62g fat just in those two pasties, and it isnt good fat either, trust me.
#28
good thing we are not limited to eating Greggs everyday. It should be known that fundamentally any pastry is not good for you, Greggs or otherwise, supermarket ones or even the "high Quality real" ones will suffer from high fat and calories.

What's important to me in a pasty or pie is the protein content, as it is a good indicator to the quality of the ingredients.

The type of fat is also important - is it hydrogenated fat?

You get good pies and bad pies, and imo Greggs dont make good pies.

The company is thriving, and they are planning on opening more stores.
A lot of people must like dreadful food then!

Jury is out for me personally as I've never tried anything from them.
Might do with this offer though.

Independent bakers tend to be cheaper and better quality. Greggs is just a big machine that churns out mass produced crap.
#32
actually mccririck, greggs will be cheaper although maybe less quality, as mass produced = cheaper bulk goods. independent bakers are definitely higher priced i find though as they need to keep profits good as they have no fall back (unlike greggs' millions) if they cant afford to keep running, and you pay an added premium, as the store owner knows its more likely loyalty that keeps his shop open

What you tend to find is that they arent cheaper, because they have such a large market share they tend to charge too much in my experience as they can get away with it.

In my home town the local baker is much better and no long queues either. More pleasant staff as well.

What a pointless waste of everybody's time. You vote hot but you haven't actually set foot in the place. Thanks for that mate. Very helpful :prop:

What about it? A nominee for the most garish website ever?
#37
I must say I love the Red Thai Chicken bloomer sandwich from Greggs although I only get this about once a month. I used to have the odd steak bake and they were nice as well

Don't be stupid.
I voted hot because of the offer.
The fact that I've not set foot in the place is totally irrelevant!

Oh dear dear dear. If everyone on this site voted for stuff they know diddly squat about it would be pointless. But thanks for keeping us all amused with your uninformed opinion!

hmm i disagree, lets say, greggs were charging 1 quid each for a pie with hardly any filling, and poor quality not worth 10 pence, then they offer 2 of these glorious pies for 1 quid, that makes it suddenly a good deal??

Since you cannot attest to the value of 1 'Lattice' at this price, how can you judge that 2 of them is a good deal?
