It may not be as free to roam as the chicken I used :whistling: again I'm unsure if this is nationwide or Odsal branch specific, although I would think nationwide, it looks like a misprice though as its £5.55 per/kg without the BOGOF offer

Who voted cold? This is by far the lowest chicken breast deal in the country. Can they find a better chicken deal? Or explain thweir cold vote

If the supermarkets offered a viable alternative, ie a free range chicken they didnt make massive profit margins on. But they dont, they take the proverbial with free range pricing. This is hotukdeals not moralukdeals

Is it just a desire to get another chicken thread closed? Less morals, more deals.

'expiration is down as the 26th' - I meant the offer end, not the sell by date of the chicken

Because you have the option to prevent animal cruelty by either buying decent chicken, or not buying chicken at all! Buying this stuff is backing animal cruelty all the way.. you wouldn't treat a cat or dog like it, why is this any different?

I wasn't going to vote on this deal but then the bleeding hearts brigade marched in here and started making a scene so I had to vote this hot.

This is a 'Deals' site so leave your politics at the door and just vote on whether the deal's good or not!

But it's not a good deal! The chicken will have more water and fat than protein or anything that is good for you! Not good value for money! Tastes crap compared to proper meat, and inhumane...
#15
Right, so you've actually gone down to Morrisons and bought some and then ate some before deciding they taste crap. I mean how else would you make the statements you did. Oh...maybe you were making assumptions.

Most supermarket chicken taste the same if cooked properly. I used to buy corn fed free range chicken all the time and could not really taste the difference but I was paying a lot more for the privilege.

Edit: All you idiots expiring the deal, how very mature...

Calling someone who is passionate about something an idiot is mature in it's finest isn't it?

Of course it was an assumption I'm a vegetarian I wouldn't eat meat. You wouldn't eat sh*t if the smell was removed would you, that's basically what this is, no nutrients at all. Why would you eat an animal that has stood still for months on end over something that is healthy and well looked after with some actual meat on it? Freerange and organic chicken is by far a better deal as the majority of it's weight isn't water, but meat.

Because a chicken is a less sophisticated life form than a cat or dog and many people dont have the finances to eat nutritious high quality protein sources without going for none free range chicken. The deal is great for anyone who wants standard chicken breast, its not a vote on morality

Chicken Breast is lower in fat than nearly any other protein source and ofcourse the protein levels are exceedingly high.

Have you ever been Hammered out of your skull on El Cheapo Plonk at the Pub?....hmm
I would have eaten my own hands on a skewer at kicking out time ....so this chicken being served up would be Gourmet............Don't fowl sorry scowl wev'e all been there..........;-).......vote on the deal not the CLF.

So it was you who expired this deal then. Makes sense.

If you expired this deal when there was no reason for it to be expired then yes, you ARE an idiot! Why ruin it for everyone else just when you don't agree with something yourself. Not very mature behaviour there. If you're a vegetarian, why did you vote on this deal as it's got nothing to do with you?!

Is this available in all branches
I hope so?
I dont care how the chicken was treated. Its a chicken, there are humans in the world who are treated same or worse.
#23
this is fresh uncooked chicken breast then? if so then its a fantastic deal.
cooked stuff usually has bits of fat etc id trim off but much better to do that on uncooked.
not sure how a misprice... 5.50 is fairly cheap but not unreasonable so only 'amazing' when on bogof.

also agree with this 100% :

Buying 22 tubs? How selfish is that.
There should be a limit on people like you buying too much mug chicken.

I Love Me Some Chicken!!!!!!!!!!!

And to all the haters out there, this is a website for getting good deals, eg, chicken breast for a £1,
It is NOT a forum for you to post your views on why you are vegiterian or why its inhumane to kill an animal to nourish our bodies.
#27
I didn't expire it at all, and it takes more than 1 person to expire a deal from my experience! I can just understand why it was expired.

I'm not selfish enough to eat a chicken if I was starving to death no, but this isn't about me and eating meat, this is about people supporting animal cruelty. I don't have any problems with people eating meat, I do however have problems with people who support this, and you can not say at all that buying this you are not supporting animal cruelty! It just shows what kind of person you are, very selfish and hypocritcal especially if you have any pets. If you were to personally see the horrible state of the chickens I'm pretty certain the majority of the hypocrites would decline the offer of eating such filth!

And chicken like this doesn't contain high protein what so ever, it is not nourishing our bodies, I suggest you take a look into it. As for the person who called me a liar, why am I a liar?

Buy decent meat, you'll be doing the world, chickens, and your bodies a favour! This is just like cardboard!
#28
This crap is just full of fatty bits. It takes hours to chop all the fat off the edges usually because it's just crap meat. Buy something decent if you need to eat meat because this is a false economy. You have to discard loads of it because it's just fat! Chicken may be lower in fat than pork and beef but it is not "low-fat"! Ask any nutritionist.

It isnt full of fat at all, and I am a nutritionist FYI, unless you eat stictly tuna/turkey/whey you aren't getting many a protein source with less fat

PS its not expired unless its only 1 store specific, anyone managed to check another Morrisons?

INCORRECT, we're talking skinless breast here, the lowest fat is in the breast, most the fat is in the skin, thefat percentage is low

Which is still high in fat and low in protein! How would you honestly expect a bird that gets no exercise, sleeps in its own bodily fluids, and eats none nutritious food to have lots of protein and low fat? That's a ridiculous assumption, there are plenty of scientific studies, programs, documentaries, articles and books about it to back me up... and in all its plain common sense! It doesn't take much to see.. why else do you think they pump them full of water?

Per 100grams: 24grams protein, 1.1grams fat. The breast doesnt store fat, its stored in the skin/legs

Now tell me the % of fat vs protein, grams are nothing when comparing. As toreo said.. how much fat did you have to cut off your cheap chicken breasts, I bet it was a lot! The majority of weight of your chicken breasts will be water, they pump them with retaining gel to make them look healthy because they are dried up and nutritionless- you wouldn't buy them otherwise! Organic and freerange have much less water injected and naturally look 'somewhat' healthy, you actually get more for your money, so is much a better deal!

I give up taking part in this discussion, as you are obviously incoherent and stuck in the ways of the corporate liars, advertising and money can brainwash a lot of easily led people! I can assure you however, that come a few years time, hens like these will be eradicated in this country, and farmers will get the money they deserve from free-range and organic hens, just like the way battery farming is currently being eradicated too, the sooner that happens the better for everyone. People should be less selfish!

Er... It's 24% protein and 1% fat.

You're wrong again. You're also wrong about water injection. If this has taken place (and it does with catering sized packs of chicken breast sold from wholesalers and cash and carrys, etc) the water has to be listed as a % in the ingredients.

BTW, you ever thought what percentage of a lettuce is water? Or a cucumber...? Have you ever actually thought at all...? And you call other people brainwashed :whistling:
#38
FFS people, listen to yourselves. Its just a load of ****, have the CLF even tried researching this, or are you all going by PETAs website? Or maybe the supermarkets are lying to you, with the information they print on the packets? If so, take them to court.

Fact is, this is cheap for chicken. If you're too dumb to realise this, well, not much hope for you is there.

And yet again, if you're not a vegan you have ABSOLUTELY NO MORAL HIGH GROUND. Ever eaten a KFC? Burger king? McDonalds? A large proportion of restaurants? You HONESTLY believe they're free range? Do you even know what free range really means? You are using price as a gauge, rather than quality, because you don't have a clue. Why aren't you bitching about these products that aren't half price? Why is it the cheaper the product, the more you complain? Why is it always chickens FFS? Do you not care about the hideous treatment of veal calves? Is this just because of that Hugh persons series on chickens? You turned over from eastenders and got a shock?

Short of keeping the chicken yourselves, you're instead being conned by the supermarkets into paying above market rate for something with a different label. You fund our food, cheers.

EDIT: All those who will disagree, please list what you buy and from where to allow a fair comparison.
