As above ok not the deal of the century but if you've some flooring to do then these might just do the job.

Picked up a few packs for the loft today and thought I'd share with you lot of thrifty shoppers :)

If it helps just one then my job here is done :D

Not only that I can't find a single post on HUKD for loft panels - this could be an exclusive !!

Or is this deal more of a reclusive....

Just looking at these for our loft & found them for £6.65 per peck at Wickes but you have to buy 3 packs to get that, so this is a great deal! Great find!

Aye' I seen B&Q's pricing tactics but if you only need a couple of packs or a specific number of packs then Homebase is the place to go.

B&Q 1 pack £8

And homebase are still cheaper for 3 packs :D

Good price, I bought a lot from wickes @£6.65 but used the £10 of £50 and £20 off £100 codes they had running, shame they haven't done that this week.

If you don't have a Homebase near you like me nearest to me is 25 miles away, but you have a Wickes they are doing these packs for £6.65 if you buy 3 or more.

Quick word of caution, Wickes & B&Q loft boards use different tongue & groove cuts so aren't compatible. Yes, I learnt that lesson after chopping a couple of boards to size.... oops.

Recently bought a load of Wickes ones, happy with them as much as a person can be happy about chipboard!

This deal made me aware of Loft Panels. So have some heat. I will be going to Wickes as its across the road! 8)

Cheap, but I hate chipboard as it has low strength and swells up if wet.

I Prefer OSB (aka Sterling board) as much stronger and swells less when wet. Indeed I have a panel outside that has lasted 10 years so far. Disadvantage is that more expensive (£6.38 per squared metre compared to £5.64) and you have to cut sheets down from 4'x8' to fit into normal loft as well as having no T&G. However, I find the chipboard T&G often snaps if stepped on midway between joists, especially if carrying something heavy.

Why would the flooring of your loft get wet though?!

One criticism of these boards is theyre really small so make the job take much longer than larger panels (but of course theyre heavier to work with and cost more so its a balancing act!)

The words "Loft" and "Balancing Act"..........should never be used in the same sentence

Why would the flooring of your loft get wet though?

Leaks in the roofing or plumbing. Both unlikely, but I have seen both over the years.

Bought some of these a few weeks ago - good value, but inspect the packs before buying - quite a few had slightly damaged boards in the batch I got mine from.

Thanks for the heads-up! I have B&Q in mine and want to add more so I'll stick to them...

Nice deal on these and heat added, but I am thinking of going for something like this instead as it will also top up the insulation, shame the price is nearly 6x more expensive: http://www.diy.com/departments/bq-insulation-board-1220-mm-320-mm123-mm/183180_BQ.prd
