Phones4U have the five different phones on their website on a great Vodafone tarriff with 12 months free line rental on a 12 month contract (after cashback). So, for £0 (after cashback) you get a great phone (for FREE!), 12 months free line rental, 500 any-time minutes per month which can be used to call any UK mobile or landline and 500 text messages per month too!!

The phones available are the Samsung U600, Samsung U600 Silver, Samsung X830 White, Motorola KRZR K1 Silver and the Samsung E840.

All of the handsets are "clearance". Phones4U say: "Clearance handsets have been returned by Customers under the Phones 4u 7 day Peace of Mind Guarantee. Clearance handsets have been rigorously tested, fully re-conditioned by our engineers and re-packaged as new. All our clearance handsets are supplied with a 12-month warranty direct from Phones 4u."

This offer works by cashback which you claim from Phones4U at four specified intervals during the contract, with a generous 60 days to send in your claim. If you wish you can purchase via QuidCo.com who will give you a whopping £50 in extra cashback, meaning that you are making a PROFIT of £50 on the whole thing!! Remember to cancel the insurance if you don't want it as it's quite expensive at £9.99 per month! As usual, send claims recorded/special delivery as soon as you get the bill and you'll be fine. Phones4U are a reputable high street retailer who are reliable for cashback.

Unless you have just been suspended for going just under the 95% buyer satisfaction rate... facing indefinite suspension! All because of stupid buyers...
Stupid stupid ebay. But I digress, U600 it is then.
Thanks

The PRADA deal is also a company operated by Phones4U so cashback will be reliable for both.

Very tempted by this, contract due up soon. Anyone know what the rates are. Don't use much texts not heavy phone user but would like MP3, Camera etc. Not sure I can cope with the complexities of this, despite duckmagics excellent article

What would you like to know?

You get the phone and pay Vodafone £40 per month for 500 any time, any network minutes and 500 texts each month.

Send your 6th, 8th, 10th and 12th monthly bills within 60 days of the date stated on the each relevant airtime bill, to Phones4U and they will credit you by cheque with £120 (month 6), £120 (month 8), £120 (month 10) and £120 (month 12).

Don't miss any of them and send each claim recorded delivery.

Cancel itemised billing with Vodafone to save yourself £1.50 per month. Just give them a ring on their customer service number when you get the phone.

To cancel the contract, ring vodafone at the end of month 11 and tell them that you want to give them notice to cancel the contract at the end of the 12th month.

Click here for other advice, including ideas on how to remind yourself of cashback dates and things like photocopying paperwork before sending it in.

If you need any other help then just let us know. :)

a friend of mine got the prada recently and took it back apparently its a ****** phone!!!

Much appreciated.

£40pmonth is too much for me, esp don't even use 100 txt per month and barely 100mins. Curently pay £21 per month, will probably change yo PAYG but need a new phone

If you have a phone in mind then let us know.

If you text lots and hardly call then the Pay As You Go "genie" SIMs where you get 300 texts with a £10 top-up are good, but not much use for calling.

o2 have a SIM with no contract, just 30 days notice to cancel, and it costs just £15 per month with 200 mins and 400 texts. Click here to see that o2 offer.

It APPEARS that you can get £22 QuidCo on that, but I'm not too sure so best to check with QC themselves.

You're welcome.

Phones4U deals usually end on Mondays so if anyone else is wondering whether they should get one or not then it's best to order tonight or tomorrow morning.

On the flipside, Phones4U will probably have further deals next week and the PRADA deal I posted at Mobiles2YourDoor, another Phones4U company, is still going strong until their stocks run out.

Ordered the Samsung U600 Silver for the wife shold keep her going for 12 months £50 QuidCo will come in usefull

Be weary that Quidco does not always go through with phones4u and also if the phone is a clearance item it could be in very poor condition.

My last purchase had the £10 rejected and phones4u were no help at all.

Had no problem last month claiming £60 via quidco.

If you trust mobiles2yourdoor, they seem to have similar deals without recon phones (seems at first glance like you loose £5 quidco for a new phone).

EDIT: Found this by clicking on the banner on their home page (the version quidco directed me to). Looking through the search lists recon. models - YMMV.

Got the U600. Order tracked on Quidco in 2 hours. Phone seems to come with free itemised billing as well:
Free itemised billing Quantity = 1
Product code VOBILL100
@ 0 GBP each

4 Picture Save Quantity = 1
Product code VOMMS100
@ 0 GBP each

What is picture save though?

I googled for "Picture save vodafone" and the first thing that came up was HUKD, lol. It seems that no body knows what it is!!

I'd check the itemised billing with Vodafone though, it usually costs £1.50 on that tariff. :?

excellent, thanks for this. Wife lost her phone over the weekend so signed up for this, I hope the phone is in good condition otherwise I wont be popular.

There is little wrong with '3'. They've been very good to me and their coverage is as good/bad as most other companies.

Same here. :) They outsource their callcentres abroad but most companies are doing this now, and the coverage problems they had back when they started have sorted themselves out, the only real problem being when you're out driving and talking on hands free and you drive through a change between 2G and 3G area.

Anyway, that's all irrelevant to this deal. :)

No, I live up north. :) Anyways, any more discussion on "3" and their network coverage isn't relevant to this thread and should be carried on in Misc.

seems along tiome to wait for any cashback
especially for someone who says they can refuse your application for cashback at their sole discretion

has anyone got the paperwork from phnes 4u before, read them and se how they try to puzzle you

good luck guys

Are you unable to transfer your old number with this deal?

They'd only ever USE this term if you hadn't complied with the terms regarding sending in claims on time etc.

If they used this term at any other time then it wouldn't stand under the Unfair Terms in Contracts Act of 1999. :)

Nope. Very few companies allow you to port to Vodafone or o2 online... almost none in fact. If you want to keep your old number then you'll need to get a deal somewhere else (like instore, over the phone or direct from vodafone - the deals will be poor through all of these methods) or choose another network (none of which have great deals at the moment).
#31
Cant you just ring up with your PAC code from your old network once you have your phone and just use that, if not why not?

Dave

Oh dear thats what it says here http://www.phones4u.co.uk/important-info/keep-your-number.asp Better ring the wife and tell her :(

This seems very good!
I'm currently on T-Mobile, with the free weekend & evening texts when you top up a tenner offer. I think that's now expired, but I seem to still be able to use it (perhaps because I got it with the sim I originally bought?).

Can anyone find a better non-contract deal than the o2 listed above? (i'm waiting for a really decent cashback deal on the K800 before I upgrade ;))

edit: would I be able to port my number with this deal?

No you can't. And don't ask me why not lol.

0rchid - create a deal request or a thread in misc about the o2 non-contract SIMs please. Thanks. :)

The only place i saw that port numbers to vodafone are http://www.buymobilephones.net/?adnetwork=af but they state that
Porting to Vodafone takes up to seven days, therefore you will not receive your new handset until this has been done. You will be informed when the number will be ported and your phone should arrive the day after this

• It is not possible to port a Vodafone mobile number to a Vodafone contract!
• If you are porting from PAYG any remaining credit will be lost!

A lot of people have have trouble with them with regards to cashback.

As I requested, Miscellaneous forum with these discussions please.

These offers still seem to be available. Not quite sure when they'll finish!!
#38
Received the U600 yesterday (took 4 days to arrive!). Still not connected to vodaphone network yet though; so popped in an orange sim, lo and behold it worked fine..So the phone is unlocked ( I don't know if this is normal for Vodaphone). Also in the paperwork it reiterated = Value Added Service:free itemised billing, I weill check with Vodaphone though (when I get connected).

Quidco says £35 not £50 - am I missing something or has quidco reduced the cash back!!
