I have just received my £75 Amazon code, applied to my amazon account and have only paid £4 to sunlife. (first month is free so no payment until next monthly due date)so I'm £71 in pocket! I then phoned sunlife free phone 0800 008 6060 and cancelled my policy same day, they advised me to to cancel direct debit which I have done.
Choose from Marks & Spencer, Argos, Amazon.

To welcome you to your plan, we'll send you a free £75 gift card of your choice — it's our way of saying thanks.

Let us know which £75 gift card you'd like as your free welcome gift when you apply online today
How it works
We'll send your gift card around one month after you pay your third premium.
But as I said I got mine midway through third month only paying second month £4!
Worst case is you pay £8 to £12 then cancel.
Your first month is free, so it'll be sent around four months into your plan.
We reserve the right to change or stop this gift offer, or limit the total number of gifts for each customer.
We also reserve the right to not issue a gift to any customer who has already started and cancelled a SunLife policy.

Hmmmm. Seems a great deal at first glance. Can any of the cold voters explain why? Being under 50 is not a reason (well, not a valid one). The fact that you don't qualify shouldn't matter. You're supposed to vote on the deal itself, not how it affects you personally.

As the plan has no cash value just tell them you are 50.

I don't know. Is that fraud? Is there any risk of getting into trouble?

yeah i suppose that would make sense. i'd be more than willing to give it a punt and play ignorant, but i suppose as it clearly states "over 50" i can't exactly claim I wasn't aware it was for under 50's :)

True... do it for your parents ;)

Is there any downside to taking a policy then cancelling it (e.g. hit to credit rating). I doubt it as there is no credit involved, but aways best to double check.

Asking for a code

Didn't ask for code for myself!

I signed up for this, but it didn't ask me which voucher I wanted. Will they do that later?

Also, it says two per a house hold. Do I take out two polices on myself or wait until I've cancelled the first one before taking another out.

No idea. I think both are just 75 quid voucher for amazon when you read the small print. As for taking 2 out. It means you and someone else in your house...

https://atreatforyou.co.uk/directline/ - you chose when claiming... so when they send you the claim code I guess it will work on either.

Thanks! That page explains a lot. When I signed up I changed the payment date to the 18 to match up with all my other direct debits. But now I wonder if I have done myself out of the first month free, by doing so!

It's too bad it's a 3 month wait for the voucher, as there's a big item I wanted to buy from Amazon next month, but I guess I can't complain for free!

With sunlife? How long ago since you last applied, and have you given exactly same details this time like first time?

Direct line... tracked fine...see if they pay and if I get amazon voucher.

According to the terms, you can apply as often as you want but you will only get an Amazon voucher per two people per a household every 12 months.

Don't know about cash back.

It's a good one to put in your diary!
