I recently searched for a way to save money on mag subs, but couldn't find anything to slash the costs. Such offers like this posted above are ok, they save a few quid, but they are not very generous. I have come to the conclusion that the best way to save for a magazine is to do it by collecting Tesco Clubcard points. For example, Empire is only £12+ quid of Clubcard points.

I have noticed the other way to save is to get a deal like FHM do with a free PS3 game. So cold from me.

That's what we do too. We have had loads of subscriptions through tesco.

Not everyone shops at Tescos, and not everyone owns a PS3. It represents a good deal for those people, and with £20 off plus £6 quidco it is more than just a few quid ...

Interesting a couple of people have mentioned the Tesco deal. I posted it about 6 months ago, it went absolute-zero in hours - despite the fact that no-one could identify a cheaper deal. Ever since I've thought twice about posting deals...
I'm not bitter tho... ;-)

If subscribing to FHM then you are better off taking the deal for £30 which includes the Saints Row game and then sell the game on Fleabay as you will probably get about £25 for it.

I guess it gets voted cold since it is nothing new, even if it is a good deal. I reckon I have given subscriptions to ten people over the last few years as Xmas presents, all through them.

Dunno if offer is still goin but i got FHM 12 issues for £12 Direct debit payment. Credit card was more than double. About £25-26 i think.

Beware if ordering saints row offer, as i got Zoo with the Rainbow Six Vegas 2 offer and was gonna sell it on ebay, but they sent me a promo disc in a clear cd case so didn't bother :(

Re. my earlier post, I was making the point that magazine subs are expensive (and often the first thing you should cancel if your back is against the wall financially - like me - I am a credit crunch redundancy victim). Even though they are expensive, there are some free gift deals to be had if you can find them. The Tesco deals on mag subs are very good, and you only have to shop there for half a year to afford one (lol).

Another tip is to choose cd subscription versions of mags rather than dvd subcription versions e.g. PC Advisor dvd is £40, whereas PC Advisor cd is £22 or thereabouts. Or get someone to buy you a mag sub as a Christmas prezzie.

I love mags and often swap them with friends. My mate gives me his read Empire. In return I give him PC Gamer.

Did anyone see today the Morrison's offer in the round robin email from Martin? Shop there each week between now and next month and get a £20 voucher (£40 spend required each week). If Morrisons sell mags, that could be another way to get one.

I am currently trialling 3 issues of PC Pro for a quid, and 12 issues of Radio Times for a quid.
