I bought one three christmases ago from Lidl and it is still goin strong. The only problem is it now thinks christmas is in July and goes a lovely red colour in the summer.

Its probably more down to where it is, and the lack of natural light. Still I quite like a reminder of christmas in the summer.

Make sure you cover up your poinsettia before taking it outside into the chilly air. If they feel a chill they will wilt and die within a few days.

Bought one for £1.99 from Lidl yesterday, it's a good size. Similar ones in Sainsbury's are £5.

They them last week as well, not the £1 ones, some had glitter on them as well. As for getting rid of cats my foolproof method is to make friends with one to the point it treats your garden as its home and both neither defecates on it and keeps other cats off it.

Last year I got my neighbours one and they were quite big , they also had mini trees with glitter on cheap too :)
