hmmm I tried talk talk once, they quite happily took the money but never ever provided the service - you can never get trhough on the phone. In the end I had to cancel the Direct Debit with my bank and then started to get debt collection letters. I phoned up the debt collectors and told them to sue me coz they wernt getting a penny and I havent heard from them since. Probably will have a letter drop on my doorstep in two years or something.

I have also heard of lots of other people having smilar problems so I its a cold deal fro me sorry - just my experience!

I've been with TalkTalk now for 3 years, never had a problem with them and their tech help is very good.
This is a good deal as for the first year all you will be paying is your line rental and costs of calls at peak times.
Hot.

I used TalkTalk for about 9 months - and then I got a letter with my MAC code in it, telling me they were dropping me as a customer due to excessive bandwidth usage. So I transferred my DSL. Six months later, debt collection notices started coming through my door, for a service they weren't even providing me.... I had to phone them up and tell them that THEY dropped ME as a customer, not the other way around.

To this day, I still get a debt collector's notice about once a year. They really don't know their *** from their elbow.

hmm I just hate the debt collectors. 1 thing I have learned from my experince that some time its better to tell them to f off.

Same here, been with them for about 3 years and i am a heavy user and have never had any issues with them, i would say that out of the 4 ip i have used in the past TalkTalk has been the best by far, heat added :)

but i do think IMO this is a good deal £17.74 becasue you get the phone package and those 0870/0845 numbers get you everytime when you are calling the bank or other buisness lines.

Unlimited calls to UK landlines, evenings & weekends
(including 0870/0845 numbers)

Calls to numbers beginning 01,02 and 03 in the evenings and weekends are included in your call plan - so you won't pay anything more to make those calls. You'll also get unlimited calls to 0870/0845 numbers, so you can cut the cost of calling banks and other businesses - our customers make 30 mins of these calls every month, it all adds up!

Any daytime calls to national UK numbers are just 4.5p per minute, that's cheaper than BT!

Yep, I'm getting £17.74 as well, plus if you want caller dsisplay you've got to add another £4/month which makes it £21.74. BT are offering their broadband for £9.99/month (18 months) on top of the £11.25 line rental (which includes caller display, evening and weekend calls (inc 0845/0870)). That's £21.24 which is cheaper than talk talk.......plus a free home hub thingy.
#10
Also they have anytime unlimited Local calls and that includes all the call to 03xx series as well

from taltalkwebsite
Calls to 03 numbers

Calls to all numbers starting with 03 will now be defined as local rather than national, meaning that if you have free local calls, you can call 03 numbers for free at all times.

The offer is 12months free essentials package, code is 300AEFREE. Also, until the 15th December there is no connection fee either!!!

That means 12 months at £11.25 and then 6 months at £17.74, also Talk Talk offer free aller display as well.

I also signed up just last week and so I phoned up regarding the free connection (which was not availiable when I signed up) and they have removed the connection fee of £29.99 from my order!!

Don't forget the cash back!!

Did anyone else have problems with this?

I signed up my GF's dad to this and he's just had his first bill, on which he is charged the £6.99.
I phoned TalkTalk on his behalf and they are denying the offer ever existed, even though we have a confirmation email of 12 months free broadband and telephone essentials.

After speaking to a brick wall in India I spoke to an English chap in cancellelations, who has agreed to credit the account with 12 * £6.99, and has asked me to forward all confirmations to him.

Not an impressive start really, anyone else experienced problems?
