If buying this make sure your cold water feed is indirect.
The was to check this is to turn off your cold water at the stop cock - if the water doesn't run from the bath it's a direct feed, which means you'll have to do some additional plumbing, you can't just replace with exsisting taps.

The reason for this is the mixer taps needs to have equal pressure from hot and cold.

Hope this helps someone.

You can replce it but it just means that you may have to fiddle a bit to get equal pressure. i.e. cold water tap on only a little and hot on a lot - it doesnt mean you cant use it outright.

We've had this exact same set up for several years now. I think it was £39.99 from Argos at that time (which was still half the B&Q price) and it's been pretty much faultless and still looks like new. Highly recommended.

Then there is still the problem that someone turns on the kitchen tap, the cold pressure drops and you get blasted with hot water. Same with any shower fed by the rising main.

I have one of these fed by a combi boiler and we put the hot on full and sometimes need a little bit of cold, just remember to not have a shower when the washing machine or dishwasher is on!!!:w00t:

refer to my 1st post - if when you turn the water off at the stop cock, but the bath cold water still runs, it's a prettty easy job. All you really need in addition is a basin wrench.

I'll pm a mod to unexpire.
I wish people would post a reason when clicking expire.

Easy to fit if you have the clearance and access to the taps and end of the pipes, otherwise what seems a simple job can produce swear words quite rapidly, especially after the original taps have been removed, and the new ones cause problems. :-)
