HI,

I booked a single trip travel insurance with Churchill for a week away in Ibiza. I was quoted and paid £17.60 and quicdo has validated within a few hours £18.00 cash back.

The site states that policies without baggage cover start from £10.07 so a pofit of nearly £8 sounds good to me,

I went via Quidco for my Churchill travel insurance but never received the cash back. I've launched an enquiry, but these things take months.

No. That's the problem.
Glad you got your cash back with no problems and within hours!

Thanks Justin, i suppose its alway the chance you take with Quidco. After reading about it on hear i use Quidco in a different browser to the one i surf with and touch wood, i have had no problems so far.
#7
spammed as its advetising a quidco rate and its not really a deal.

Surely it's a hot deal due to the large cash back for something that is likely to cost very little!

Yea, it can be a bit hit and miss.
I also missed £30 cash back for a mobile phone around the same time! You can only make an enquiry into a missing transaction 2 weeks after date of purchase for this merchant. However the phone company didn't have the phone in stock until 2 weeks after I ordered, and they didn't take the payment until they dispatched it so I can't even create an enquiry on Quidco! Plus you can't talk to a real person (even by e-mail)!

I did read on Quidco's web site something like "Quidco is a privilege and not a right"!
#10
my advice is, get the insurance well in advance so you can see it appear in your quidco before the cover starts. you can always cancel under cooling off period terms if it doesnt show and simply try again!

You can get a quote for a day-trip to France (booze-cruise perhaps?) for £8.74.

£18 Quidco for an £8.74 outlay is a no-brainer.

In fact, you could get the quote, pay the premium and not ever have any intention of travelling and, as long as it tracks, make yourself almost £10.

:-D :-D
#12
Good tip!
#13
Generally we do not allow sole quidco deals on the forums. However, this is combined with a deal on insurance, so I think it's fine.
#14
Great deal! - Voted hot & rep given

Only problem is the site tells me that my date of birth & age don't match, so I can't complete the deal :-(

I thought about that but wasn't sure wether to include it in the post. Surely they will cancel it or make it a less cashback amout if they get loads that they are losing money from.

The Quidco cooperative concept also means that it is not every member for themselves. The actions of an individual can affect the entire group and in some cases spoil things for everyone. Being a part of Quidco is understanding that you are a part of the whole and you have responsibility towards all the other members. Please do not abuse the merchant programs or attempt to create fraudulent or deceitful transactions.

And who thought the post was for the nodding dog?

I did.:)

I used Quidco for More Than travel insurance recently and for a policy with no excess you get £15 back which ended up making our policy £25...a bargain for zero excess.

I posted this deal ages ago but it was taken down and hidden without trace. If you look at my posts and the ones that you can see in the history, they don't tally.

I'm glad you see sense now, but I don't like the MO if that's your way of doing things. Not emmajk in particular, but the site overall. I'm disappointed.

Each post is judged on it's own merits UKougar. When a mod removes a thread, you usually receive a PM. There is no indication that your thread was removed by a mod, it looks like it was manually spammed by the members by click the spam button.

Well that doesn't seem right somehow emma. Are you now saying that even though you have verbally ok'd this deal, that if enough members click the spam button, then this deal will be automatically deleted.:-(
