there have been quite a few monitors posted on HOTUKDEALS lately and im after one. Im tired of this 12in laptop screen its killing my eyes. So i thought i would invest in a 22in LCD.

Cibox appears the best of the bunch going by specs alone. the Hanns-G has HDMI, screen is 21in whereas the others is 22in, but the default resolution is the same.

With the Acer appears that the Contrast Ratio is 700:1 whereas the other two is at 1000:1 (i assume the higher the better)

Warranty on the Cibox and Hanns is 3 years the Acer I assume is the same

Ive also found this Acer on Pixmania with CrystalBrite screen
http://www.pixmania.co.uk/uk/uk/568607/art/acer/x221wa-22-wide-tft-screen.html?itag=6506#fichetechnique

The Cybox has WXGA+ and the Acer on Pixmania has CrystalBrite, is this the same thing ? and the Contrast Ratio on the Pixmania Acer is 800:1.

Any suggestions recommendations ? I am no monitor expert but would appreciate an honest opinion.

Thanks in advance

I'm also after a 22inch, but after alot of thought and research I'm holding out to purchase a Samsung. I know it's currently about £50 more but hopefully they'll be a deal on at somepoint in the future.

Seeing as we spend all our time looking at the screen and it's likely to be in use for at least 3 years I'd rather pay that little bit extra.

Size and price get better every few months wish i waited 6month instead of buying a 19".

I'll skip this and grab a 24" in a few months :)

Voted cold. The HDMI 22" Hanns.G @ £150 is a better brand and specification.

Also voted cold, as there is no shortage of 22inch monitors at this price without DVI/HDMI.

My local Staples has the Belinea 2225S1W 22" Monitor for £149 instore, and Comet are doing the EMPREX LM2201 for £149.99 to name a few. :whistling:

I ordered the Hanns.G which has now been dispatched from Ebuyer.:-D

Is there any 20"+ monitors with component inputs too (I can settle for a TV at 720p res) so I can happily use it for my Mac over DVI and my Xbox 1 / Gamecube over component? I know Staples used to do a Gateway 21" with them but they seem to have disappeared. Or is the Samsung SM940MW going to be the closest is can expect in terms of price and quality?

Thanks for any help!

I bought this when scan had it for £150 with DVI, its a good monitor and better than the sharp 17" panel it replaced. I would possibly agree that without DVI input it may lack but then again it may not, i have not tried the vga side of it.

Still im happy with what it does and the viewing angle is far supperior to the sharp it replaces, nice monitor the only downer is brand name snobbery.

Probably a stupid question but can you just use this as a normal TV? I'm looking for a LCD/TFT screen i can connect to my freeview box

I bought the Cibox 22" with DVI from Scan that was on here about a month ago (approx £154 including delivery).

I am VERY happy with it.

I downloaded some HD trailers from the site below and they look amazing on the 22" Cibox DVI monitor.

Not really, it can be done at expense but i doubt you want that. There is a little more here:
