Cimarosa Australian Shiraz £2.99 @ Lidl

£2.99 @ LIDL
Price reduced at my local store, good value for an Austrailian Shiraz. Tastes like a more expensive wine and far superior to anything else i've found at this price. Read More

I am not sure if its this one but one of the cimarosa has such a strong oaky flavour that I find it pretty sickly first few sips ok but then its too much.

Just bought one of these to see what a 2.99 bottle would taste like. I guess I won't bother opening it

Because of 4 random strangers' opinions? The OP thinks it's decent. :D

First few sips it's a bit rough but after you've got past that it's quite nice. At that price it's also great for cooking. I purchased 8 bottles of it a few weeks ago and put it in Lidl's boxes which offered £4 off a box of 4, so it worked out at £1.99 a bottle.

Pears in red wine or mulled wine is always an alternative if the taste is a bit iffy.

Great if you like a robust wine with a bit of attitude (A lot of cobblers spouted about wine. some of the best wine in the world is cheap local plonk that never sees a shop or store ). Pair it with some of the cheap New Zealand Lamb Legs that are due anytime. Loads of garlic and rosemary , LUSH !

Here's the lamb to go with it. :)

Sainsburys has lots of wine on offer both red & White extra 25% off 6 bottles i.e. Mcguigans Estate red £4.50 less 25% £3.38 bottle white £5.00 less 25% £3.75 bottle good price for nice wine maybe worth the difference of less than £1per bottle as long as you are buying 6 bottles Tescos also has similar offers you also get points at Sainsburys & Tesco

Nice! You might have got a bit lucky there, that offer is meant to be for the more expensive wine cellar wines. X)

Make mulled wine with it.

Not tried this one, but bought 3 bottles of it today.....
The Cimarosa Australian Cabernet Sauvignon that Lidl were recently doing for the same price £2.99 was well nice. Kept going back and buying more.
Hopefully this is as good.

Bought one bottle to try...nothing to lose really

Bought a bottle to try and it's OK. Not great but eminently drinkable and at that price I'll buy 6 more.

is this offer £4 off a box of 4 still valid for £2.99 Cimarosa Australisn Shiraz?

There is a problem with getting a cellar Lidl's box! I was told none left in my store!

I love this...the oaky/woody touch suits me. Everyone's tastes are different...can't be doing with wine snobs. Currently on offer so good for a couple of glasses on a school night!

Bought a bottle. Its a nice wine and does not taste as a cheap wine. For this price you would not get such a good tasting wine in big supermarkets.
