Normally wouldn't vote these deals up, but Fury and - especially - Gone Girl are excellent films to go to the cinema for.

BUT! Please note: Gone Girl IS NOT a either a First Date Movie, NOR an Anniversary Movie. These are the facts...and they are undisputed.

Good selection of films, not had chance to see Fury. I have very mixed feelings about Gone Girl, those who have watched it will no doubt understand.

Good deal but surprised they're showing fury & Mr turner, with the DVD Screener leaks & all. Guess it's good to watch it in 4K on the big screen though!

Neither got nor cold from me

Haha, I get back from a 2 week holiday to Jamaica on 12th and I'm up for work at 5.30am the day after, so I'll be too knackered to watch it :D

Not hot or cold because you can illegally download it for free? What silly logic.

This should not be a deal. Cinemas are well over priced and the drinks and popcorn is far too expensive for what it is

A cinema is a Business, you're paying for convenience. A standard ticket alone costs far more. Not only are you getting tickets for £5.50 each, they're also throwing in their overpriced popcorn + drink free. How is their pricing any different to any other typical store in a position like theirs? Think about it; they're a monopoly in a sense, there's no competition hence they're able to get away with such redicilous markups. Same principle applies when you go to the beach right, or amusement parks such as Thorpe Park?

You must not get out much with such mentality and outlook. I personally think it's reasonable how they've priced to sustain the level of demand they receive for their services. By pricing it cheaply the demand would be far greater than they can cater, so you need to look at it in all angles.

Its just the one day the take 2s are always on Thursdays, just had a nosey on google and it gets released on dvd a few weeks later. Normally quite expensive but defo worth a watch.

and is it all day on the thursdays and on at all the cineworlds including those in london?

They are normally showing at a fair few presume it mostly depends on how big the cineworld cinema is, from what ive seen in previous take 2s they are nornally just in one screen so my local normally has around 3-4 showings throughout the day. Hope this helps.

Also just bought the unlimited card.
Question: If I booked tickets for a Take 2 and used my unlimited, would I still get the free drinks and popcorn? :P

To be fair, you can also get Gone Girl in full HD as well. I'm not advising that people do so - I saw it at the cinema and loved it, well worth paying for - merely making the point that your argument applies to more than just those. It won't be long until The Imitation Game is available online as well.

Just had a nosey at t&cs and it says not available for use with unlimited card. Boooooo.

Maybe it is best if one doesn't take their smartphone or Ipad into Cineworld though:

Gone Girl was half decent. Mr Turner has great reviews on imdb. I wouldn't pay full Ciniprice but this is a great deal that we used a lot this year. Oh and Sweet Sunday's deal too.

Going by the reviews, "American Hustle" was a good film and that was awful to sit through?!
Mr.Turner had critical acclaim but was essentially just Timothy Spall grunting for a couple of hours!!
Each to their own, but I wouldn't make the time or spend any money on enduring Mr.Turner again ;)

I agree about 9 quid for a ticket is a lot, but some films i.e. hobbit last three hours.
So you are paying just 3 quid an hour to sit in a warm comfy seat to watch a quality film.
Imagine sitting in a pub and trying to spend just 3 quid an hour

Train journey an hour long would be about 20 quid

Recording a movie for strictly personal use is not illegal in UK cinemas according to Torrentfreak

Fury is a very good WW2 movie.

The scene where 4 Sherman tanks take on one German Tiger Tank is superb.

Not normally a big fan of Brad Pitt but thought he was excellent.

That's annoying - Fury is not showing at the O2 at Greenwich.
I was getting all excited but now I am disappointed.

The offer has been pulled completely "due to the number of films coming out this year". My local venue had 50 shades on 7 of the 14 screens on the opening weekend and 4 are sold out already. "biggest pre-order we've seen eclipsing skyfall".

Customer services say "it may be back later in the year"
