Hi, i emailed cineworld to confirm that if i was to get a annual cineworld ticket will it work with orange 241 wedn'

Unlimited Services

END

I Also phoned to confirm this, both anwsers yes.

Heres the deal- if you are a orange customer and have a cinewolrd pass, you will be able to get a another person in for free on wedn.
This is becuase, technically you are paying for the cineworld pass and that covers orange wedn' 241 terms.

The pass costs from £11.99 per month

http://www.cineworld.co.uk/Cms.jgi?RUBRIQUE_CMS=UNLIMITED

ovbiously, deal may not appeal to non orange customers, but still a plus side for getting a cineworld pass, especially if you go cinema a lot.

ps- this pass is a 12 month contract, however you can also pay up front to the total cost of the 12 months, thats if you dont like having direct debits taken all the time!

reps appreciated as always. thanks

i keep wondering if they will ever take the full amount...ive gone through the contract with a fine comb and still it should come out at £10.99 and then subject to direct debit guarntee can up it or down it...but its been stuck at £4.99 for a while for me hehe..see about 6 movies a month lol
#4
yeah this has been on moneysavingexpert for ages. If you take a mate every wednesday for a month its the equivalent of £1.40 per person per film.

I am surprised you got any answer at all. Every time I contact them I am met with a a French guy who doesn't understand English. Their customer service is diabolical. But if this offer works it will be of great benefit to me.

Just a word of warning for anyone being incorrectly charged by unlimited card. The same thing happened to me ages ago when the price was supposed to be £9.99. I thought i was getting a bargain too then all of a sudden, when the mistake was noticed, they decided to take all the money owed out of my account in one go. I tried appealing to their good nature but it didnt work, i ended up coughing up about £100 in one foul swoop.

My advice is to do what i didnt and just stick the extra £5/6 away somewhere every month in prep for the bill !! If they never notice then happy days.....

Anyway just be prepared for the day that it catches up with you....

See ya and good luck ;-)

This has worked since it started.. better late than never I guess.

Hmm - ever since I bought an HDTV and SkyHD I havent seen the need for my Cineworld pass - so cancelled it. Best thing I did in 07 :)

Can't agree. I emailed them recently and they phoned me back right away. Didn't even seem like they'd time to read my email or look up my number.

Also, my card is bust at the moment and the guy at the desk offered to phone and order me a new one.

I've had mine for god knows how long and it's ALWAYS been available....
#11
The Cineworld callcentre is in Hull now so chances are you wont get a frenchie anymore if you have the need to phone.

hi the thing is some cineworlds had a diffrent policy when it came to this, but ever since the price was made to 11.99 its the same policy on orange 241 all across te uk now

Even without being able to combine it with the Orange 241 offer the Cineworld Unlimited card is amazing value. Films cost around £5 at the best of times, see 2 films a month and you've broken even, any more than that and you're getting free films! And Cineworlds are not bad as far as cinemas go.

Yeah, because the rest of the cinemas are cheap..

You don't have to smuggle your own in, just take it in. They can't stop you.
#16
yeah no smuggling needed!
#17
i normally take a bottle of coke in my pocket, but at least twice i've blatantly walked in with a burger king - all they said was finish the food first and the drink is ok :)
#18
I've been using my Unlimited card with a friends Orange Wednesday's 2-for-1 for over a year. Great value, two of us can get in for "free" on my card.
#19
I always take my own food in...there is a tescos near the cinema so if i want a drink I pop in there beforehand. I always walk into my local cineworld and they never say a word.

The card is great value... used to have it when it was £10 a year but I am considering getting it this year as well.

I dont have orange mobile If I got this can I use a friends ? or would I be better off getting a payg chip?
#22
can you watch new films with this pass ? I remember seeing things like these film/s is excluded from use with the pass when looking at one of their brochures along time ago

Our Cineworld checks bags as well as your tickets - no need to smuggle - just buy sugar free sweets & drinks, ( I have to eat sugar free, low fat, low carb & low starch foods ) Boots do a great range of sugar free sweets, Asda do some aswell - just tell them your diabetic & they dont cater for your needs then they just let you through ;)

I've seen people refused entry on an open Coke bottle in thier bag, its like Hiller-esque at my local - all so they can make £ - its disgusting, groups of people cant afford the cinema due to the policy & the tiks are expensive enough.....I have been unlimited since the Virgin days, rarely use card but I know even once a month with Orange it pays for itself but i'm cancelling my current 12 month contract early - they think they can charge me £11.99 when i signed a 12 month contract for £10.99

Im sure ive been told in the past that cinemas for some reason are not allowed to stop you taking in your own refreshments? not sure if thats correct or not but was told its something to do with some old law or something? anyone know for sure?

You can use a friends yes.

On this quote you can use your card in any cineworld cinema for any film [providing your of legal age to watch it]

If you have the 11.99 card you cant watch films in the london area because this card is more expensive [13.99 or 14.99 cant remember]

no films are excluded, not even 3D films.

They cant up the price without you agreeing because you only signed a contract for £10.99. Mine never went up.

Actually they can stop you. They can refuse entry to anybody, whether they are carrying foord and drinks purchased off premises or not. At both of my local Cineworld cinemas they clearly display signs saying food and drink purchased elsewhere are not allowed to be consumed on the premises. I always smuggle in too, because I also have a Unlimited card and it is fantastic value for an avid Cinemagoer like myself.

The Orange 2 for 1 offer has always been available on the Unlimited card, whatever people may have been told at their local - You are technically purchasing a ticket through a pre-payment method with the Unlimited card, and as such fall within the terms of the Orange offer. It is only their own staff ignorance that has resulted in it being refused previously.

You can watch any film with this, including new releases and 3D films, and do not have to pay extra for the glasses.

They cannot do that. I signed up a week before the price went up, and they have honoured the old £10.99 price for the length of the contract without question. It says the price you agreed to pay on the contract you signed, and they cannot alter that price within the 12 months - Read the contract.

I would have to add that even at £11.99 this is excellent value for money though, as long as people go at least 2-3 times a month. I cannot understand why so many people have moaned about the scheme - it normall costs £5-7 a visit on average, just for a ticket!!!. In my experience the Cineworld cinemas are some of the best too, with the most comfortable seating and modern projection and sound equipment (with more digital projectors able to handle 3D films than any other chain I believe). And I dont think their food and drink prices are any worse than any other chain - they ALL charge well over the odds.

I dont have orange mobile If I got this can I use a friends ? or would I be better off getting a payg chip?

You need to get a PAYG mobile and put at least £10 on it. Topping up wiht just £5 does NOT allow you to get the free 2 for 1 text tickets. And you also have to have been a registered Orange customer for at least a month before you can take advantage of the offer, so you cant just buy a Sim on the same day you want to go (you need to plan ahead). However, having said all that, its worth doing - I bought a Sim some time ago, put £10 on it, and have had four visits to date, including one for a friend (I sent them my text ticket for that day to use). Its well worth having, especially combined with the Unlimited pass.....

I have to disagree. Their customer service was superb when my new card was delayed recently, and if you use the geographical number displayed on the Saynotto0870 site (which incidentally is for the Unlimited Call Centre, located in Cannock, as confirmed by the very pleasant staff member when I spoke to them - not sure why some people think it is elsewhere), it doesnt have to be costly call either.;-)

Hmm - ever since I bought an HDTV and SkyHD I havent seen the need for my Cineworld pass - so cancelled it. Best thing I did in 07 :)

Yes, and you pay Rupert Murdoch and his empire £10 per month for the pleasure of watching very limited, and largely upscaled non-HD sourced material. Hmmm......

Personally, I would wait for Freesat to be launched in the next few months - Totally subscription-free to air HD satellite broadcasting, through your existing Sky dish. Without having to pay Sky £300 for their overpriced HD box, and £10 subscription each month. Sorry, but that is a far better option than Sky, and I am as keen as any to enjoy nice HD on my lovely Plasma, but I would rather pay £10 odd per month to have unlimited cinema visits, than £10 to Sky for upscaled output....

Incidentally, I think the cinema experience is half the fun. I have a very nice Home cinema set-up at home, which is great for watching films, but would never stop visiting the cinema to see films on the big screen, which is truly how films were meant to be seen. But then I have never seen the attraction in watching [email protected] pirated films bought for £3 at Car Boot sales either.....
