You know more than you think...I agree, great watches. Never heard of creation watches though, anyone have any experience of dealing with them ?

Although not likely you could end up paying tax from Creation Watches, though I have purchased from here with no problems.
Also it won't come with Citizens 5 year Guarantee but with their own 2 year guarantee, and might not come in the official watch box.

Looks like they are based in Singapore or New York...

Hmmm... wonder how much the import duty, VAT and customs clearance fee would be.

Creation would always mark the packages 'measuring equipment' and it would almost always get by customs and excise without drawing attention.
However, more and more stuff is getting stung now, they've really tightened up on it. You may still get away with it, but now its the exception rather than the rule. Import duty used to be 4.5% on watches, plus 20% VAT, plus handling charge from the courier for collecting these taxes is the usual costs.
Also if you get a problem with the watch, you will have to send it back to Creation, some have had problems with them and their warranty.

Take all this into account before ordering from Creation..... then decide whether the savings are worth the gamble.

If you don't wish to take a chance with Creation, The British Watch Company have it on offer for £149.50

Certainly what I would do..... the extra £31 is less than the possible import charges and costs and you get a proper official 6 yr warranty.

I'd only take a gamble on Creation now if a watch was half the price of what I could get it in the UK.

Britishwatchcompany say mineral glass, other says sapphire. Big difference in my experience as always scratch mineral but never genuine sapphire. Who is right? heat added as nice watch

All citizen watches are 5 year manufacturer guarentee...

They're not if supplied by Creation watches because Creation are not ADs, instead Creation supplies it's own 2 year guarantee

mmmm, so not so much of a deal after taxes, customs fees, etc etc are added.

Oh and if anything goes wrong, you'll have to ship it back at your own expense to wherever in the world it comes from as Citizen won't cover the watch.

Still a deal ? errrrrrrrrrr not really

Agree - this makes all the difference in the world. Sapphire crystal will mean your watch still looks nice in years to come - my watch is 16 years old and scratch free, worn every day.

Mineral is more shatter proof, sapphire is more scratch proof. Both have their benefits, though sapphire commands a higher price tag.

I'm not sure that citizen are generally better than seiko either. Obviously depends on the price point though...

I like the look of the deal, but thanks to everyone for explaining the pros and cons, something's there I hadn't even thought of, might go for uk seller now but heat added anyway as is a good deal if willing to take risk on extra charges

I've never had a scratch so bad that I couldn't polish it out. Nothing in my toolbox can repair a crack. I prefer mineral glass.

That probably marks me out as not a serious collector, or even not a collector at all, and that's true.

Ordered a watch from creation yesterday but I haven't received any confirmation yet just a receipt from world pay, how long do they usually take to send the confirmation?
