It's been this price for a while now, was a better deal when the gift voucher was on offer, which I expect will return in a few weeks

No harm done, I was considering it as a everyday watch in October is all :)

Argos "eco-drive" search (Citizen self recharging brand of watches), price: high to low:
http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Search?pp=Show+all&s=Price%3A+High+-+Low&x=826&y=103&storeId=10001&catalogId=1500000701&langId=-1&q=ECO-DRIVE

Thanks for adding the photo !

very cheap for an eco drive.
#6
Good price for an eco-drive heat added

eco drive watches have to be some of the best watches around i have one so does the wife. i think they were originally developed for one of the americas cup yacht teams, they have no battey and get thier power from the sun and are also very accurate and long lasting. i highly recomend a eco drive watch

I'd love to know how they compare performance wise to Casio G-Shock solar's which are similar :)

From personal experience the Citizen watches seem better able to maintain the charge despite being sometimes lower rated than the Casio. I own both.

Casio prices in the recent Amazon sale of these watches were better than this current offer. Keep shopping...

...just picked mine up...nice size and weight too...very high quality
#12
Yes, £5 off with the above voucher now. Nice watch.
#13
...coudda got it even cheaper...so...an even better offer !

#14
Cheers OP - heat & rep left. That's my Christmas present to myself sorted!
#15
Great watch, got one last week! Heavy and looks rich on the wrist!
Manufacturer's 5 year guarantee and no hassle of batteries!
Voted hot!
#16
thanks :w00t:
#17
hotnspicy how does the energy last? Is the solar keep it running ok?? or does it stop sometimes?
#18
repped will probably get one tomorrow thanks :)
#19
From what I have heard of others if it goes several days (1week+) without light it can need a recharge?

Anyone with an eco drive for several weeks at least should be able to tell us.
#20
Excellent deal, currently £219.99 at Amazon.

Voted hot.

I have an Eco-Drive watch and will say that they are fantastic! The price on this one is excellent.

Once fully charged, they will last up to 6 months in the dark!

If the battery charge is getting low, then the second hand will tick every 2 seconds instead of one - letting you know to sit it near some light.
#22
lol thats kl but do you watch your second hand that often? Must be really bored :p
#23
:-D You'd be surprised! You look at your watch every day of the week at some point - and you DO notice if the second hand ticks in 2 second intervals!!! Looks like its stopped!;-)
#24
Yep it's easy to notice every two second, second hand movement compared to one second, you don't have to look for it.
#25
cheer Op, OH crimbo pressie sorted. Have left heat and rep.
#26
Ive had my eco drive watch for a couple of years now and it looks as good as it did the day I bought it, and I wear it every day for work. It charges in artificial light (just as well as I am stuck in an office) but not as quickly as in sunlight.

Good watches!!

IIRC a HD temp has to hit 30c within 24h of submitting a deal for it to ever hit front page "normal" listings but it does appear under "newest" listings anyways

Just a suggestion, something i picked up from the voucher thread:
Purchase £50 of vouchers and get £5 free. Then purchase the watch with the £55 worth of vouchers plus £11.50 cash and then get a further free £5 voucher.Or better still if you can use the vouchers firstly purchase £100 vouchers and get a free £10 voucher, use £65 of them to buy the watch and get a free 5 voucher, leaving you with £50 of vouchers.HTH.

Is that gift vouchers? Are they letting you have the free £5 or £10 gift card if you buy vouchers as i thought they stopped that in the last promotion or have i got that wrong? Brilliant deal if you can.

Childish and useless comment? Yes.

A comment that most of us can ignore? Yes. :)

On Tuesday this current promotion ends.

So getting this Citizen = £5 gift voucher and if you're like me you'll have a £4.99 or similar Argos code to hand to spend it again at the till seconds after you've been given it ;-)

Their T & c's only prevent you from buying vouchers with vouchers,so there is nothing to stop you buying vouchers with cash or card. The free voucher is automatically dispensed when you spend £50/£100 pounds in either cash/card or vouchers.
#34
Hmmm
So, Buy £50 of vouchers and get £55's worth

Buy this Citizenwith them+£11cash, get £5 gift voucher on top.

Essentially making this deal a ££61 with a £5 gift voucher? :)
