Get her a provisional driving license. You'll be surprised how many places refuse to accept these even with the PASS logo.

No passport? Seriously? Has she got a birth certificate? This would prove her age!

My advice get her a passport before the usual price hike. It also serves to help with later licences.

I got my daughter one of these cards so she doesn't have to take her passport or birth certificate out. Everywhere has accepted it, it has to be the best thing we got for her.

When I was 17 (not actually that long ago) we applied for things like driving licenses ourselves... How our youth are mollycoddled!!

Before I had a provisional British licence I had this as I'm originally from Canada and lots of places wouldn't accept my foreign driver's license (and I hate taking my passport out with me; I often forgot!). The girl at ASDA who suggested this card when I was trying to buy wine said that supermarkets were all trained to accept them but that loads of bars and clubs were hit or miss - I think it's one of those YMMV depending on who you get on the day. Anyway, a provisional licence is obviously best if you can but I never had an issue with using the card, even at clubs.

Not much use as photo ID!

And filled it in with a pen BY HAND! The youth of today would need training on how to do it and a free iPad for their tremendous efforts!

I got this earlier this year for a friend when it was £1.

She hasn't yet been refused drink from asda, tesco and the likes.

She doesn't go clubs so we aren't sure if it'll work there. But it's a cheap Base line for photo I. D.

Provisional license is around £45. (down from 60)

Passport I believe is around £85 (?)

Would be better to get a provisional driving license everywhere accepts it and you can learn to drive when you want, never had my driving license refused any time i've been ID'd, I'm old enough that when i was a teenager upon turning 16 everyone in school got given a proof of age photo card with your date of birth and the date you turn 18 on

There's a similar ID card called the Civilian Card came up on my faceache feed the cost for that was £25 so this card is comparitively good value if it's the type of thing you're looking for

didn't citizen cards used to be free? I swear they were free when I was younger and didn't have a licence or passport

My partner had one when he turned 18 and lived in Canterbury. Even the supermarkets wouldn't accept it or bars, and he spent £30 at the time. I would get a driving licence instead, she'll need one at some point I'm sure and not too expensive. Loads of times my partner was refused, even though we pointed out the logos etc, if a place doesn't state they accept this form of ID they won't accept otc

Another classic HUKD....something that is over half price has the "pass" markings so is comparable to others, widely available to all so it's not a wild goose chase, a fraction of the price to others that do the exact same thing (ID purpose), cheaper to replace if lost and...........goes cold! Heat from me.

Renew it! Mine arrived within 2 weeks at the standard fee posted myself. Or do you want to stop her leaving the country?

These cards are good and accepted everywhere my son has been. We paid the full price but it was worth it.
