This is the story of Seth (Cage), an angel who wanders the Los Angeles area invisible to humans. As the demise of an individual approaches he spends time near them and becomes visible while acting as their traveling companion during their trip to the great hereafter. His discovery of distraught heart surgeon Maggie (Ryan) inspires him to forego his immortality and exist on earth with her as a feeling and mortal entity.

Top movie this. Probably no.1 for me

Same price as Play.com, and only 44p cheaper than The Hut group. Not really a "hot" deal on that basis.

excellent film - underated

Excellent film and sound track.

Dreadful, dreadful and unnecessary remake of "Wings Of Desire".
Its like a ceebeebies version of the original.
buy it just to flush it.
Ranks up there with the modern remakes of "Get Carter" and "The Italian Job".
Who the hell though bleeding Nicolas Cage could pull off what Bruno Gantz did so effortlessly.
This belongs on your shelf along with other classics like "Iron Eagles 4"

Probably the same people that cast Nicolas Cage in National Treasure :whistling:

I stopped trying to work that one out a long time ago. Welcome to the site - I am afraid that you will see a lot of negative comments - you just learn to ignore them or stop posting.

Aren't all remakes by their very nature unnecessary?

I like remakes though, after all it's just a different interpretation of the same story, which has a long and storied history in literature. I never understand why film fans always get annoyed over remakes, you still have the original version so what's the problem.

and of course if it wasn't was for remakes then we would have missed out on a lot of truly great films.
