Civ Rev 2 is ok for a while, gets boring quick though, only so much you can do on that game without being declared war on every turn by everyone.

Civ Rev is OK, but XCOM on a half decent tablet is an exceptional game. One of the best ports I've ever seen.

xcom is a great game I paid full price and it was worth every penny. Its a steal at this price especially on tablet.

I’ve ordered an NVidia shield TV but it’s not going to arrive before the offer on borderlands ends and google play won’t let me buy a copy now as it says none of my devices are compatible. Can anyone tell me if there’s a workaround that will let me order it?
Thanks :)
PS: Voted HOT :)

Annoyingly my tablet (Lenovo Yoga Tab 2 - 1050) is apparently not compatible with xcom even though it's not very old and is running the latest manufacturers firmware. Still voted hot.

Great price but I've only got a cheapy Hudl and XCom not compatible with it... :(

There may be a workaround - there are android emulators for PC which may show up on the Google store as a compatible device. http://www.androidauthority.com/best-android-emulators-for-pc-655308/ has a few, there may be others. Last time I did this was years ago, so can't say it'd work for sure.

Edit: just noticed the offer is for shield only. No idea if any emulators emulate the shield.

Edited By: nikolai on Feb 17, 2017 13:28: Spotted the offer was limited.

Tempted by CivRev2, but it used to be buggy as hell from what I read a while back. Not sure if they've patched it.

X-Com is worth the buy. No IAP, solid addictive gameplay and intuitive controls. Once in a while the elevation controls play up and you send your unaugmented sniper into the direct path of that wretched Sectopod but otherwise gameplay is quite smooth. Easily as good as Space Marshals (Note 5)

will they work on nvidia shield tv?

XCOM isnt compatible according to the Store page. Was gonna buy it for my Shield tv. Won't bother now.

Rather than fiddling with an emulator for the PC, on Steam you can buy XCOM for £3.09 from Gamersgate, with XCOM-The Complete Edition being £5.37 (this has been as low as £4.99).

Good find mate. With the standard edition on Gamersgate do you receive a Steam key? I'm wanting to play it on my Macbook yet I'm not sure if this will only unlock the PC version.

Yes, they are Steam keys (I found it difficult to find too): "DRM:Steamworks", though there's less than 8 hours left on the deal.

Cheers for the reply. When I add it to cart there is a warning in red text that the game is only compatible with Windows, so I don't think it's going to work on Mac.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown (as well as the Complete version) look to be Mac compatible, check the requirements: http://store.steampowered.com/app/200510/
Probably their system is incomplete and doesn't know all Steam game details.
(Sorry for veering off-topic everyone that's here for the Android version)

Yes I was already aware it was compatible with Mac by checking out the Steam page but I thought it strange Gamersgate specifically warned you it was the Windows version you were buying. To double check I emailed Gamersgate but they still haven't replied. I couldn't find a definitive answer when I googled about Steam keys unlocking the Mac version of the game also.

Anyway, to put things back on topic, I bought the Android version of XCOM Enemy Within before Xmas at full price (using my Google Opinion Rewards credit) and it's an excellent game and generally works well on a tablet (mine's a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2). At this price it's a complete no brainer if you're at all interested in strategy games and own a decent tablet.
