They had a charcoal grey pinstripe, plain grey and plain black in store in Huyton.

I have listed them in descending order of niceness/expensive-lookingness

Great for dodgy supply teachers and estate agents around the country.

Polyester suits. Aaarrrrgghhh!

Better than no suit for a court appearance or first job interview, but not much. People will notice it's a cheap suit from about 100m.

If you can afford it, and particularly if you are going to wear it more than once, have a look at a wool blend suit. Asda do a range of suits by Charlie Allen that start at £50 for the jacket and £29 for the trousers. It will last longer and look much better.

In my opinion, these suits are good for funerals. When i go to a funeral i do not like to wear the same suit to another, therefore this is ideal for me. Its a basically a disposable suit...... and suits me fine

Actually, I think you'll find it is Polyester (97%) and viscose (3%). It's the viscose that makes a difference (_;)

Seriously though, the plain black looks awful and shiny; very similar to cheap school pants/blazers. The grey looked slighly better. The charcoal grey is very nice and looks like a more expensive suit. Ok, it isn't wool blend and won't fool any suit afficionados, but it is more than worth the £25. In fact, I'm wearing it now with one of the cheap ties I picked up too.

I'm long past the expensive suits I used to buy when I first started teaching 15 years ago. Now, I try to pay less than £50 for a suit which has to be machine washable. So far, Matalan haven't let me down with this but the pinstripe from Asda is worth a punt for a day to day suit. At least I get to alternate my suits on a daily basis; blue, grey, grey stripe and brown :D

Complete the look with a pair of old trainers and a copy of the Racing Post sticking out of the pocket
#26
I had to check the date of this post because our local Asda have had £25 suits for at least THREE years, and in fact the Christmas before last, if you bought the jacket you got the trousers for nowt.

I had a coffee "accident" whilst working away a fortnight ago, which meant the only suit I took with me was no longer grey, but now grey with brown poo-like stains in certain areas. To cut a very long story short, I popped into the Watford Dome Asda, picked up the £25 suit - and it came with a complimentary shirt and tie!!!
Admitedly it;s not going to win any style awards, but it is perfectly wearable and great value (even better with the free shirt.tie combo)! I just forgot to post this at the time! heat added

I bought one a few weeks back, it's a good suit.
