Bit of cling films cheaper?
Cling film is for sandwiches and can harm batteries through oxidation if not allowed to breath.
#3
The price should either be posted as 90p or £5.90 (plus any postage)
You cannot buy this product for 59p

Surely thats wrong. Surely you want them air tight like they come in the 'Packet'

ox·i·da·tion

1. The combination of a substance with oxygen.
2. A reaction in which the atoms in an element lose electrons and the valence of the element is correspondingly increased.

... and that's why the deal should be posted as £5.90

Please show me a cheaper deal elsewhere for 1, 2, 10 or 100 cases. I find the cases very useful for storage and traveling.

Battery cases and the packets they are purchased in deliberately leave free air (space) around the cells to prevent oxidation from occurring when they are moved between hot and cold climates. Cling film and plastic bags should really be avoided.

Ok a plastic bag then feel so stupid saying that now, I mean free carry bag or 59p case, that you can pick up a ton of them from a poun shop for next to nothing.

"deliberately leave free air (space) around the cells to prevent oxidation" leaving air aroung the item to PREVENT oxidation? Now I have heard it all...

Perhaps the helpful mod can correct his pricing mistake:thumbsup:. Even I think £90 is a bit too expensive for a battery case.

Orville you can do that yourself by editing the deal  Either way haven't voted cold, because I can't find anything cheaper, nor can I find any use for this item.

you can't polish a turd either. :thumbsup::oops:
but you could help protect it in a nice clear battery case.

My son is an RC enthusiast (which is why I have tons of rechargeable batteries). Most fellow enthusiasts swear by battery cases to help sort, carry and safely store their rechargeables.

Perhaps most people simply do not see the point or need for them. I guess these cases are only really useful if you regularly use rechargeables or own a lot of them.

Nobody expects an accidental discharge.

If you are into photography these are really useful, to separate fresh from used rechargeable batteries. Either different coloured ones or with these you mark them to suit:thumbsup:
Heat added:thumbsup: thanks OP:-D

Price amended to £5.90 as you need to buy ten to get the battery cases at 59p if I'm reading offer correctly, thanks

I got some of these are they are really useful for putting rechargeable AAs and AAAs in for digital cameras and popping them in a camera bag. When out shooting they keep fresh and discharged batteries separate and easily identifiable. All batteries pointing in the same direction = unused, alternating directions = dead.

If you use regular NiMH rechargeables, it helps to keep batteries charged at the same time together, so you know the self-discharge will be broadly similar across all four.

There are two downsides though. AAAs rattle about unless you put some tissue paper or similar in, and the cases are rather brittle, so dropping them on a hard surface will cause them to shatter.

I think the price of these varies. I got them a while ago at about a pound for four. At 90p each? Hmmmm, not so sure.

Megamart.

I do own a lot of recharable batteries, have spares for camera more then anything, but I still don't see the point in carrying them round in a protective case when there in a protective camera bag. Most batteries are used in Wii Xbox and ps3 etc second hand pads, but then again.

Glad a few other people find them useful. I was beginning to feel like the only one here.

If you buy your rechargeable batteries from www.Vapextech.co.uk they already come in them!

Failing that similar ones are cheaper here
http://www.rapidbatteries.com/AA-battery-case.html
certainly if you buy 10 (as in this "deal") which with postage, costs £5.30

So cold on ALL counts!

Vapextech is FINE!

The other site, yes, there is precious little info except a PO Box... I would probably use Paypal though!
