Isn't the idea to push the base under the chair/sofa so you can lean back?

Works OK for me

I have a DAVE from IKEA which is a similar product but made out of plastic.

It is very, very useful as a bedside/sofaside table for your notebook. Anyone who thinks they can keep a 17" notebook on their lap for a prolongued period will soon be impotent.

Biggest annoyance is that my desk chair can't get too close to it because of the feet of the chair hitting the foot of the able.

if that's the one where it can either be flat or a 25 ish degree incline, seems a very useful neat bit of kit and better than this one IMO

Just had look on the website, it looks really cheap to be honest. I think this Argos one would look nice in the lounge as a normal table when your not using it for the laptop. And also the Argos one has a base that can be pushed under the sofa but the Dave one has 3 big legs sticking out... not keen on it :?

Thanks OP:thumbsup:

Went for the black one in the end. Think I'll use a mousemat, too (just in case!)

Seconded thought I was the only one missing this? Is this LAPtop table portable so you can take it on a train? What a useless item. Voted cold

I quite agree. Sitting like that is going to ruin your back in no time! Why not use your laptop.... on your lap!
#30
No wonder the price has been reduced. Voted "Cold".
#31
Yep my mate has two of these, had them for many years, you pull it under the sofa so the glass top comes over the seat so you don't have to lean forward. I would imagine the photo was took that way to show the table off rather than hiding a portion of it under the sofa.

These are ideal for notebook/netbook users and when no in use could use it to stand a vase on, candles, etc

Yeah it's pretty cheap looking, does the job though.

My comment was meant to be in support of this product more than anything. Some people are making fairly daft comments about this type of product having no purpose.

The DAVE can be angled, that could be to someones preference mind you. Not mine though, my MacBook Pro slides off! I narrowly avoided disaster once.

For sure - it's awful and asking for all sorts of skeletal problems.

Aaaargh, I hate laptops in a domestic environment as they tend to be used for hours just as shown in the picture and worse.
