Brilliant, brilliant deal. I'm going to feed this one to orange, see what they offer me instead!

Might be worthwhile to mention that their 'Clearance' phones are re-furbished. Taken from their website:

"This handset is a refurbished clearance item and offers a huge discount off the original retail price. Refurbished handsets are usually ex-demo or returned products, which we have reconditioned and repackaged, they are also blemish-free. All refurbs come with a battery and charger as standard, although other accessories are not guaranteed. They also come with a full 12-month warranty."

Just in case people think they would get a brand new phone.

hot for me

That links to the same phone

Cold deal its with 3 , i just managed to cancel my 3 contact 4 months in to a 2 year deal due to naff coverage and rubbish service with their roaming partner (orange) if you use internet alot worth noting that if theres no 3 coverage and you roam to orange then internet is only 2g and its ... useless.

Great Deal, have this phone about 8mths on a 24mth £35 deal, 900mins, unlimited txt and 1gb, and really happy with it, would recommend it to anyone.

i pay 4.00 a month for htc desire on three, 18 m contract 200m unlimited internet 3gb, unlimited 3 to 3, unlimited texts got this 6 months ago and didnt get voted hot lol got x 2 wildfires on same deal but 300 minutes.
#11
£30 Quidco btw.

Oh, and **** 3 (sorry debs)
#12
Still a good deal though.
#13
good deal if you can commit to 24months contract.
#14
At the moment you can get the newer HTC Desire Z on O2 for £20.42 monthly through Dial a Phone with £65 Quidco. That is better than buying it SIM free. Only comes with 100 mins and texts but as far as I am concerned it works out to be a nice interest free loan then I will pop my £7.50 T-Mob sim in it.

It is an 18 month contract so total outlay is £367 (£302 if Quidco pays out).

Gutted - I just ordered an HTC Desire from o2, but this looks like a better deal. The deal I got works out about £18/month, but doesn't include data so I'll have to add that on.

Anyone clued up on contracts?

I have just ordered a Desire from 3 but has not arrived yet.

Would I be able to cancel my contract in favour of this?

Cheers in advance

Assuming you ordered it remotely (online/via the phone), the distance selling regulations will apply. In this case, you are guaranteed a minimum 7 day cooling off period. Just call to send it back as soon as it arrives and they can not stop you.

Thank you mate.

Appriecated.

Will send it back now as they charged me £25 a month

I have no problems with 3, the coverage is fine the high speed 3g is great and the desire is a fantastic phone, granted customer services are not the best but I have dealt with a lot worse.

i brought refurb in the past and looked like new and warranty the length of your contract so should be ok.

24m contract for a 1yr old phone, that's refurbed. Not sure that's such a deal.
(As a guidline, I've had mine since March 2010, £15 p/m 300 mins, U/L SMS, 3GB, £100 Phone, 18m contract)

There will be better deals for the Desire range in the next few months as the new wave of smartphones are released, inc the dual core phones.

This is a serious problem!!

I had roaming issues and Three advised - "...take a contract on another network then..."

Usually Three would bend over backwards to keep a customer but not anymore. If you've got an unbranded phone it's fine as you can lock it on to GSM. If you've got a Three branded phone your screwed - it won't let you select GSM. No matter how bad the signal is, the phone will try and select the 3G network.

Obviously this is moot should you be using it for mobile broadband.
#36
HTC used to give 2 year warranty on handsets. If that is still the case then worth checking of they will start the 2 year period from the purchase date or if it is linked to the serial number so you might be 8+ months in to the 24 month warranty period.
#37
Desire Z is a batter handset 18months @ £23 a month.
#38
oh lol nevermind, I thought it was £9.99 a month! whoops.

I have a 3 contract (have had for a year, previously with O2) and they have been excellent, coverage virtually everywhere, In loads of places O2 didn't cover (like places in the Lake District).

The only problem with 3 is if you want to buy an imported phone, it is hard to find one which covers the 2100 network (3).
