i got stung with this befor, i run a print company and wanted some samples to compare to my own.

if you are a professional, wanting to create a good impression, i would get a good local firm to do it.

Before buying from Vistaprint - look at this google search on "vistaprint charging' - as it returns thousands of matches where people have had money withdrawn continually from their credit cards afterwards.

Here are a few quotes JUST FROM THE FIRST PAGE - but why not check for yourself.

11 Feb 2008 ... BusinessmaxBusinessmax/vistaprint charging my debit card without authorization

It would seem totally reasonable to charge VistaPrint for the time out of your working day that is spent putting matters right

3 Mar 2008 ... When I called them, they said that I clicked on a popup, and that Vista Print authorized that charge. This is not true since I have a popup ...

DO NOT order anything from these people!
My parents ordered the 'FREE' 250 business cards. When their credit card bill came through, a mysterious £9.99 had appeared on their card, with another company's name on it. It seems that when they applied for the buisness cards, you automatically sign up for a continuous monthly payment for some discounted scheme, from another company. Both of these buisnesses are based in Mauritius, or Bemuda (somewhere like that)
My parents ended up cancelling their credit cards, which caused a lot of hassle.
My advice is to STAY WELL AWAY!!!

From here it would seem you don't even have to click....

Look at their pricing structure - look at how they advertise - look at the complaints - draw a conclusion as to how they generate a profit. :whistling: :w00t: :whistling: :w00t:

i have bought from vistaprint 3 or 4 times and never been charged the monthly fee etc. i've only ever paid for what was on screen. always tick/untick about receiving offers from others etc and you should be fine.

also, these offers are valid any not just the day it says on the e-mail.

i got stung for this too. i dont check my statements, only cos my fiancee happened to be nosy that realised theyd done it for 7months. called the company clubprem.com and they refused to refund, wrote letter and they refunded it all immediatley. vista print are good but be very careful. an advert pops up apparently that says you egt ten pounds off something. by clicking it u agree to their terms, and their terms are that u pay 9.95 a month and u recieve a discount from lots of places on the net (all places i dont use), vista print give them your credit card details which u also apparently agree to by clicking the ad and providning your email addy.

they never sent any member number, or correspondence to email or address so had i wanted the services in the first place i would have been paying for a service that never arrived, this was my argument to them, they didnt question it just agreed to refund.

Absolutely correct, if you don't check very carefully what you are doing whenever you deal (online or not) then you shouldn't be allowed out on your own !

I ordered cards from VistaPrint a few months ago, they arrived at a total cost of £4.07 with no subsequent charges. Then again, I read everything on the screen very carefully and made sure I unticked/ticked all the correct boxes so didn't get caught by this "deal".

Scam implies something dishonest and I'm not sure this is, just because the default answer was "subscribe" doesn't remove everyone's individual obligation to check and watch what they are doing!

Defintely sharp practice tho' and not the actions of an "honourable" company!

You can turn their emails off from your "My Account" page on their site, I know because I've done it.

Kids and their bl**dy computers, why is it always some else's fault when something goes wrong, have we all lost sight of the concept of individual responsibility .......
#18
And of course the mature and rational solution is for someone to mark it as expired when it isn't, that way we deny people the right to decide for themselves .....

OK, I'm off my soapbox now......

Dear Moderators....

Would it be possible to unexpire and' despam' this thread - so it can reach the true heat value it deserves?

Well, if heat is the right word!!!!

The topic of Vistaprint on this site seems to split people between the ones hit by the "deal" who now stay clear of the site, and those who think Vistaprint is the bee's knees and the people paying £9.95 without their knowledge are idiots for signing up.

I've used them 5 or 6 times now, for the T-shirts with photos printed on them for a couple of quid, from deals noted on HUKD. I've never been stung for the charge, but then I read the information next to the check boxes.
