It is less than I paid, and an OK brand too; but if anyone is buying one, especially for any quantity of work, look into one that FEEDS the branches/stems, they are dearer, but I find the manual feed one an absolute PAIN when you are shredding any quantity, and wish I had gone the whole hog when I bought it! The noise levels alone justify the extra spend, as any time spent working at one is deafening, and a good pair of ear defenders is essential!

Neutral for that reason

I've got the same TV but without the integrated digital. Had it 3 months now, very happy indeed and the support is excellent. 3 years on site (apparently they turn up with a new set and just take the old one away so you aren't w/out a TV!). The thing that made my mind up was that the day this TV was launched in Japan, they sold 50,000 sets !!!
I've added a direct link and an image. I've added a price and retailer name to the thread title. Thanks.

Please see the links in my signature for help on posting deals.

Could someone tell me who their parent company is please?

Interesting question as I am wondering about a Hannspree TV purchase.

I think the answer to your questions is the "Walsin Lihwa Group" of Taiwan...

How I got there...

Hannspree website says:
Operated in June 2003
Corporate headquarters located at Wugu, Taipei
Assembly factory located in Shanghai China respectively along with a global logistics center

Chairman, Yu-Chi Chiao

Corporate Information
Company Name: Hannspree, Inc.
Established: July, 2002
Number of Employees: 300 (as of March 31, 2007)
Head Office: No. 48, Wucyuan Road, Wugu Industrial Zone, Taipei County 248, Taiwan, R.O.C.

The Chairman appears to be the key individual and searching for example on his name shows up 1998+ HannStar as a LCD manufacturer in Taiwan. Another enterprise is Hanns.G which specialises in LCD displays for computers etc.

Then his name led me to some articles:<--- shows the "Walsin Lihwa Group" and the Chairman of that's younger son = the Chairman of Hanns... enterprises = answering your question.

All a far cry from those who think Hanns... is a German enterprise because their first European base was in Germany! That said I recall some mention of ASSEMBLY of some units in E.Europe.
Hannspree is renowned for producing innovative designs in the LCD TV market and with their parent company being one of the worlds largest manufacturers of LCD panels

Could someone tell me who their parent company is please?
So it's Virgin Media thats **** Id suspect !!

Ahhh yes, that was what I was trying to say. Since changing to Sky, no problems at all.
So it's Virgin Media thats **** Id suspect !!
I have the 32" Hannspree in my bedroom. Perfect considering only spent £300 on it delivered.
Fairly good picture.
**Sometimes though, it isnt always 100% compatible with the Virgin Media boxes and I experienced loss of sound quite regularly. It wasnt just me, I viewed about 150 reviews and probably 1/3 of these sad the same. Works perfectly with Sky**

yes ebuyer is probably a better bet. thanks for the info keep us updated with the return. I'm off to richer sounds to get a samsung hopefully
I went with ebuyer in the end as although it was an extra £10 they did free next day delivery rather than 2-5 days at clearance buys which I thought was fair enough, also ebuyer have always been good on returns in the past for me, If it helps it was very impressive until i had this problem, tried xbox 360 through vga, pc through hdmi playing hd and didn't suffer from any of the problems mentioned in the avforums thread.
unfortunately not I was just checking as I know some people were getting v1 shipped with theirs which might explain your problem.

Did you get it through clearance buys? How was the customer service?

I am in 2 minds whether to go for this or pay a bit more for samsung. I'm swaying towards samsung cos can't be hassled with getting a duff one
Yeah it's a V04, why any tips that might help?
do you know what version firmware it has?

had one of these for 2 years no problems , slow on the screen when you press a button on the remote
the swivel stand is ace .
2 hdmi at the back one at the front
picked one up from crampton and moore paid £720 but onlt £50 for 3 year warranty
the remote movable stand is a great gimick

Can only see it at £799 on their site. With the warranty this seems a better deal
Voted hot, I delivered one of these today and they are very big and heavy, you will need a big room for this and be sitting at least 12 feet away to get decent results, if you don't have this space you would be better buying a smaller quality 1080p lcd for this money, you wouldn't believe the amount of people who buy bigger screens and sit six feet away
Right my brother in law has just got this tv and I'll say for the price it's a great buy. I,m quite an av nut with a 50" panny PZ700 myself so I know the difference, but when most people have trouble setting up their own tv as he did and muggins has to go round and set it up, for them it's as good as anything on the market and the remote swivel stand is the icing on the cake for them. As I said for the price it's an excellent buy which will suit most people.
Yeah this isn't 1080p

Sorry. Went to the Hitachi site and saw the Full HD symbol against this TV and took them on their word. The spec details did not say 1080p or 1080i (deliberate?)

Picture quality is not always dictated by resolution though.

For the price and for a christmas present it seems a good offer can anyone update on the item please?.

I've been trawling for data, and found a little. The pluses and minuses are discussed here.:

This line from the link above sums it up, unless you're not worried about price and don't mind waiting:

>Considering that the non-digital models sell for a similar price, the offer from
>clearance buys is an absolute bargain!

This is the link I went to for the Hannspree 32"

There are two SCART sockets on this one, plus onboard freeview. Also, I assume it has the usual optical/coax connection options, but can't find any clear data about this. I'd want it for my DVD recorder, and I'm sure that most people would for at least their players. Surely this can't have been left out?

Has anyone bought and received one of these yet? I just wanted some feedback about the product and about the website where it is bought, e.g. delivery times/any probs etc. :)
Thats why I went for the 32" Hanspree with digital tuner built-in which has 2 x scart & 2 x hdmi plus 2 year onsite warranty.

I'm really tempted by that hannspree but the reviews of the previous model (without the freeview), on AVFORUMS, is really putting me off. I wonder if it's the same electonics inside, except for the tuner, and the same blurring and red ghosting will appear. If it does with E-buyer I could return it, whereas I don't know what Clearance buys are like.....
