Just found out that if you order clearout items and others items together you still get the free delivery!
There are loads of items reduced that aren't listed as clearout - they all state £4.95 delivery but as I had clearout items in my basket the delivery was still 0.00!
#13
and they say further reductions too...

Well, whilst we're talking 17" TVs, how about a widescreen one for under £100 with the voucher?

http://www.woolworths.co.uk/web/jsp/product/index.jsp?pid=50723568&_requestid=155584

Comes in @ £98.99

I think this should probably have a thread of its own........

Does anyone know the returns policy on the clearance stuff? Something I'm waiting to be delivered has been reduced further from 19.99 to 12.99, wondering whether to order another one and see if I can return the first? Can it be done in store?

Under the Distance Selling Regulations, providing you notify supplier of your intention to return within 7 days, and return in received condition within a reasonable time you can return an item. No reason has to be given. The Seller either must collect the purchase or pay for all postal costs. Most Retailers dodge the issue and fob customers off with"Our Company Policy is". Ignore that line, no Retailer can negate Consumer Protection Law.I have just had a dust up with A***S over this. Local Store Manager refused to refund the Postal charge on a Web purchase. He said"We have NEVER refunded a postal charge" and would only refund purchase price.Email to A***S Head office reminding them that they are in breach of Consumer Law..Guess what...Immediate refund of £4.95 delivery charge.Wonder how many 10,000s customers that have been caught out by this dodge. Many Retailers dodge the "Distance Selling Regulations" by offering a 13/21/30 Days return, thats crafty, as they are tempting you to go past the magical 7 Days for the DSR return sysytem.

I brought 3 Spear and Jackson Spotlights for £7.49. Craking deal, that they were selling same in shop for about £13 odd. All apparnetly reduced from £39.99. Product reviews in Woolworths site were awful, but still decided to get them at such alow price.
Collected from my local store. 2 of the 3 were cleraly damaged which I was able to repair and get to work, but when I couldn't gte the 3rd to work at all - decied must take them back. Which is my next task.

Just shows that should take note of customer reviews - and not the price!!

Sorry to disappoint all you Spear & Jackson fans but I have just had my Woolies delivery and all three sets of S&J lights are going back. One box of 3 lights is definitely a Woolies problem as they are obviously returns. One knuckle joint is wrecked and the solar cell on one of the others is hanging by its wires.:x:x

With the 2 packs of 10 kights that I also purchased, SEVEN of the 20 lights are faulty and this is 150% down to S&J as the lights had never been out of the box. All of the faulty 7 are because the transparent plastic cover over the solar cell is either not glued into place or is done so badly that, when it rains, the lights will fillup with water and then the lights will be dead. :x:x:x:

Basically, all rubbish as all 3 sets of lights state in the instructions that they can be left out all year round.

Same story about S&J solar lights. Initially only 4 worked but managed to get the 5th to work as it was just a case of the battery hanging out inside the damn thing - very poor design. Still can't get the last one to work but I can't be bothered to return them all....they look nice without the light anyway!

Have fun trying to retiurn your goods.....its like dealing with a business back in the 70's and 80's!

I went back to my store this morning, found the same item on the shelves, was told to go to checkout and they would swop them over.

No, that was far too simple and logical... swopping the damaged / faulty goods for a new one off the shelf.

The reason being that I brought online and at a different price. The one in store was being sold for £9.95, so I could only exchange it by paying the difference in price. Unbelivabale.
I was given the opportunity to " come back in tomorrow to see the Manager" if I was still unhappy..
Comments such as " well the on line prices are always cheaper, so if you want anything from here you have to pay the higher price" and "well, online is like a different compnay - really we are 2 different companies" simply astounded me.

So the choice was pay the diff in price and you can take the replacement item or we will send it back for you.

Eventually they offered to refund me my money, which out of sheer frustration and finding it so hard to beilive that a company of this size could operate in such a petty and old fashionded manner I took.

Never again will I be tempted in using Woolworths.
