I saw this and needed to share, it finally got me to register!

I have one of these and they're fantastic - kind of a cross between a french press and a pourover. You put in a filter, add the coffee and water and let it steep for a few minutes. Then you just plonk it on your cup and the false bottom lets it drain through the filter, and you get a nice clean cup of coffee. Really easy to use, easy to clean, and it's portable so you can travel with it or keep it at work!

People really rate them, and here's an artsy hipster video to prove it

Course you can just use pre-ground coffee and dump in water from the kettle and come back in 5 minutes if you want!

They usually go for £18+, and for some reason Amazon has another listing at that price (both sold by Amazon) so I'm not sure what the deal is, but can't complain right?? Full price seems a lot for what it is (even though it's really well made and the results are great), but at this price it's a steal and it would make for some great xmas presents

It takes any #4 size, but I usually get these Filtropas:

They go between £3 and £4 for 100, so it's about 4p per cup. I usually fill it with some hot water from the tap while the kettle's boiling, then let it drain into the cup I'm going to use, so it rinses the filter and warms the CCD and the cup

Well technically there's a moving part! There's a false bottom which is like... I haven't looked closely but I assume it's like a loose ball and socket joint, when you put it on your cup it pushes that base up slightly and lets the sweet sweet coffee flow. But I can't see it breaking easily, it's plastic but it feels really solid and hard-wearing

Throw out your terrible and unreliable home espresso machines. Aeropress and drip all the way.

You must've been doing something dead wrong then. Got mine today and instantly have taken to it, nice and hot nice and strong; used about 22g of coarse grounds to 350ml of water.. absolutely no hassle at all and a simple throw away of the filter after.

Absolute bargain at the price paid.

It's not really the *insert coffee-making method here*'s fault if you don't put enough coffee in! You'll get better extraction with a coarser grind, but honestly I use it a lot with pre-ground stuff from the supermarket for the convenience, which isn't coarse at all. I just recommend stirring it after you put the water in, and stirring it just before you put it on the cup to drain. You'll get a nice even pattern of grounds up the side, instead of it clumping in mysterious geological formations, and it'll finish draining through in about 30 seconds

It's arrived and I <3 it - so much quicker to use and clean than other coffee makers :)
