Outside of a dog, a book is a man's best friend.
Inside of a dog it's too dark to read.

if you have a ipad or spare phone set it up with a app called Alfred (android and iOS) . i have been using this for a while. It can also connect more than one phone to it around your house. Voice and motion detection.

Do you need a Mac to use with IPad / iPhone ?

with the Alfred app you set up a spare phone/ipad as the camera. Then you use either another phone/ipad/PC to view.

Can someone please comment on how easy this is to connect to from outside your home wifi, e.g. via 4G on your phone? Does the app work without any hiccups or do you have to pfaff around with DNS settings etc?
Many thanks in advance!

Well if it all goes pear-shaped, you can always consider releasing a budget update of the Confessions of a... series. :)

a wifi camera is probably just as likely to spy on you as anything you plan on spying on ;)

I can understand someone needing to record onto a computer, but why would you want it to record to 'anything'??

Maybe they mean a NAS or dropbox ?

I'm not paranoid, but I wouldn't trust my baby either. Who knows what cunning plan they could be plotting next.

Misleading picture. I wanted camera hidden in a plush dog. That's a proper surveillance

A stonking deal for what it is! 20 quid for an IP camera that has a decent picture and allows remote monitoring. MyMemory also has exemplary customer service standards. I ordered the Toshiba Exceria 128GB microSD card from them in Oct (again another unwanted deal from here, this site is killing me!), and for some reason it never arrived. Just contacted them via the online chat and a very helpful lady immediately offered me a refund or replacement. Can't argue with that in today's marketpalce with retailers like eBuyer at the other end of the spectrum (remember eBuyer's festive photo of their staff a few years back with a poster in the background rating how many RMA requests each of them had successfully rejected!!).

Bought and heated, thanks OP!

Easy peasy. Install the app, register your user account. Add camera, it will find it's default wifi and connect to it then it scans for your home network. Put in the password for it and that's about it.

You can record too micro SD 24hr or just on motion and it sends push notification of events. Live view over 3/4G no problem. No need to set up DNS/Port forwarding.
