What is it about these drives that makes them so popular? They seem to be appearing every week!

Gotta admit the price per gig aint bad though...

EDIT: Actually if they can get enough power from my DVD USB port this could be very useful!

huh? the price per gig is very bad.
the whole attraction is the low outlay.
if you dont need more then price per gig is irrelevant.

Would like to point out the 2 i bought from Zavvi's eBay outlet a week or two back, stated USB 2.0 also, but box arrived says USB 3.0 on it, AND the unit itself has USB 3.0 marked on it just where the cable plugs in.

I never knew this when i purchased it, and i also do not have USB 3.0 connectivity on any PC, so cannot verify........ YET! :)

I just need something I can plug into my GFs DVD player, save me carrying 4Gb flash drives about!

Are CDiscount safe to use now?

I had real problems with them previously then they went into administration, never got a purchase delivered from them and had to claim back through credit card.

I can also say that mine SUPPOSEDLY has USB 3.0 on it though I can't test either. If it is USB 3.0 then this is going to get really hot! Anyone that previously bought one from the Ebay deal able to confirm this?

Mine has USB 3.0 :D I got mine from ebay Zavvi outlet.

Do these work with the Parrot bluetooth MKi9100/9200 car kits?
#12
Good deal, better than carrying around lots of different memory sticks. Price per gig is good IMO if you don't need 500gb/1Tb.
#13
Had mine delivered today. Looks ok and loaded my films and played on my media player with no problems. A minor drawback is the software that comes with it ( that you don't really need) is only 32bit.

£24.99 now

Got one off Zavi other week!

Sadly doesnt work on either of my dvd/divx standalone players with usb inputs or my Sumvision Cyclone Micro Media Player. :-(

BUt hot price fo ££ per GB mobil storage none the less :-)

I'm guessing having the enclosure is a good selling point with this. A few bob more and 5 mints with a screwdriver would be more sensible but it's far from a bad deal.

Good spotting!

Now £24.99 on site.

they will be back on zavvi ebay soon, best wait and get from them rather than the dodgy cdiscount.

Got one from zavvi and perfect for my needs. Shame this has gone up to £24.99 now.

I also got one from Zavvi last week, and it works OK with my Sumvision Cyclone micro media player (HDMI 1080p) :)
Which USB cable did you use did you use to connect the Hard drive to the media player?

I got the Zavvi/ebay one and it came as USB 3.0 - and it's FAST!

Something that took 4.30 mins/secs to transfer on the PC took 30 secs on this. Not entirely an accurate comparison but it really is fast.
