sorry old chum but there are so many good antivirus programs on the net for free " avast ag " etc i can never understand why some one would pay for an anti virus program now a days. sorry had to vote cold for this one

True, there are free programs out there, but they consistently score lower than the best commercial packages when compared on group tests. Kaspersky is amongst the best-regarded of the internet security suites on the market. Obviously it's your own choice whether you prefer the free software, but there are plenty of people who prefer to pay to have something better.

Three technologies that effectively protect against both current and new malicious programs that are designed to steal your financial and confidential data or damage your computer. Includes antivirus, antispyware, antispam, a personal firewall, parental controls, and protection from hackers all in one easy to use solution.

get your facts right ...............or you will be doomed to the big virus in the sky

Used Kaspersky for the past 3 years along with zone alarm personal firewall.
They are unbeatable. Never reset pc and still going fast.
Everage use of 12 hrs a day!!!
If you are about to install Kaspersky and zonealarm, install Kaspersky first otherwise it will ask you to uninstall zonealarm.
They say that there is a compatibility issue, but as mentioned, I use both and they go fine.
A great bonus having it free from Barclays

Kaspersky is one of the best if not the best on the market, HSBC gives you Mcafee free for upto three computers if you bank online.
I personally was using AVG until it started to take 6 hours or more without even completing the scan, I now use SUPERAntiSpyware which is free and does a great job.

You can download Avast antivirus free and use Windows firewall with superantispyware for bugs trojans and malware, use all three together and you have one heck of a protected system..

    Total cost £0.00

I have used Kaspersky before and it is resource hungry so will slow your system down unless you disable the online web scanner and alter some settings..Ok for the advanced user but not for the average bod out there to use..

Voted cold on this one i'm afraid as you can get protected for free..

Exactly old chum - not ONLY an antivirus...

More importantly, this is cold because Kaspersky AV (the highly rated bit) is normally only £8-9.
