Seems like a good price for a childs jacket, however I'm not too keen on encouraging kids to walk about with headphones on, they don't hear dangers eg: traffic noise. Good under supervision though, on a bus journey maybe :)

Seems like a great deal have ordered one for my son for next winter, very good price for a good quality coat. Thanks OP

these will be next to the hoodies with secret knife pockets spring loaded for fast action.

I have to admit I thought it was a joke by the OP! That is absolutely shocking.

I've bought it, not for the ipod part but as it was a cheap coat for the winter

On sale because M&S realised that most 11 year olds cannot be trusted with a £200 (ish) MP3 player and buying an M&S coat to accessorize said player is just asking to be beaten up/mugged in the playground?

what he said! You dont want to pay to have you child mugged do you? Must be the reason why M&S have reduced this item. The £30 saving is not a saving in this case. Sorry voting cold.

Agree with some previous posters, silly idea..kids with headphones on outside are not a good idea, cant hear road noise and your asking for trouble. No wonder its been reduced IMO

And dont let them climb trees either unless there is a safety net stationed under each main branch.

I disagree with the negative comments which are not completely related to the jacket but to the use of headphones!! I used to listen to my cassette player then CD player during my school days (21 now) so did my friends, when you cross the street take them out, or if you want to be somewhat alert from being mugged while walking only use one earbud at low volume, when you are on the bus etc you can use both. To the jacket, the controls are on the inside if someone was going to mug you, the white iPod ear buds are more of a give-away and to blame than a discreet jacket! If i saw some kid wearing that jacket i would be non the wiser.

This is only acceptable if you have a council registered safety officer complete the installation and get planning permission for your tree/nets. In triplicate.
