When will I be able to buy a CDN Big Time Extra Loud Digital Timer? Your Website has been down for an age. Please, please, please sell me one of these.

you have misunderstood how hukd works. i had found this ages ago for my mum so i posted this on hukd to give members like you heads up to go and buy it. that website where i found the alarm is no longer available and i doubt if this alarm is still available with them.

if i were you, i would google this alarm and buy it if you can find it. here's one i found from the google search for example

Sorry to get so passionate about a kitchen timer

when i looked at digital timers, i was surprised how difficult it was to get a good quality timer as reviews on ebay and amazon on the new timers were all bad, stating that they don't last very long.

my mum's Salter Big Time has been going for the last 15 years and it is still working perfectly so I thought it was safe to look for it again. i found it was discontinued but this one was its replacement with good reviews.

they don't seem to make good digital timers anymore that lasts. guess maybe now fewer people use them.
Was in the market the other week for a new kitchen digital timer and went for the actim dual timer like this one:-

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-Acctim-Tempus-White-Dual-Independent-Countdown-Timer-55112-Easy-Operate-/220971873970?pt=UK_Kitchen_Accessories&hash=item3372f336b2

I liked the fact that:-
a) It's loud (very loud in fact!!! I can easily hear it upstairs.), but also has a quiter mode, which is switchable, or even mute (which could be good for exams etc).
b) Has 2 timers either counting up or down, each on the display at once and the corresponding button flashes green or red when there is less than 1 min left. So you could have timer A for your main course and timer B for your cakes.
c) Has a separate programmable memory function for each timer ,eg 3 mins timer 2 (if say you use it for boiling eggs)
d) Has a hook, a magnet or a stand so it is very versatile to mount somewhere.
e) Takes 2 x AAA's so battery last a very long time and very easy to replace (some timers take coin cells).

Sorry to get so passionate about a kitchen timer, but it really is very good in my opinion.

I like the big display on the OP's one, but I really like the Actim dual display.
