Heat for the price OP, considering the normal cost, however, Coldplay are the spawn of Satan and their awful 'music' makes me want to pierce both my eardrums with a rusty nail.

I don't understand why people hate coldplay so much. their music is really catchy?

It's the gap between what they promise - huge, epic, timeless, heartfelt voyages of sound, and what they actually deliver - thin, generic pop music.
Their first album had some nice intimate moments on it, but as soon as they ramped up the epic sound on the second album, they lost me.

They changed a lot since their earlier albums. I'm guessing a lot that liked them then don't like them now, and the opposite.

I think you're being ever so slightly over analytical - with the emphasis on the first part of that word. Either you like their music or you don't. In this age however, a band that plays instruments, writes their stuff, produces their stuff, does have an edge of respect over fat man with cigar and a team of writers bringing in the latest pappy singer to auto-tune for the mass market.

I think you're both right, in a sense. Yes they're earnest at what they do but they massively sold out their sound from album two onwards for massmarket appeal. Coldplay very much come across as wanting to make albums that people buy, rather than making albums that really say something and hope that people will buy them. They're very good at the former, which is not everyone's (mine included) cup of tea as it just comes across as poppy and bland.. which is most definitely not how they started out.

Actually, I started out liking them, then went off them for a bit, now I like them a lot, again. Their Ghost Stories album is one of my most played albums. Perhaps different from how they started, but I cannot really think of a band who have managed to maintain style and quality over any length of time. I think their style has matured.

Yep. I'm voting cold for this reason. I think it was 99p then to make matters worse. Getting really fed up with the deal of the week, it used to be good at 99p but now at £1.99 it is either old stuff or stuff I've never heard of. Hope they get back on form for their Christmas deals.

Iam sure their sell out world wide tour was full of people who had a great night out as I did in Manchester in June.Iam no coldplay expert but they seemed genuine guys who fully understood that without the fans they have no career. Price for the album is what the site is about not about personal music choice.
