Ok so heres the deal. You may have noticed instore and online, that the Collins Large (27 x 19 cm) dictionary and thesaurus has been reduced from £25 down to £6.25, which in itself is a deal, equating to 75 % off, but ive managed to get them both for even cheaper.

Each book contains over 1000 pages EACH.

So original RRP is £25 + £25 = £50

Discounted price instore for D + T = £6.25 + £6.25 = £12.50 (75% discount)

Price i paid for both = £7.50 (85%)

How?

Go to http://whs.emreact.com/aem/clients/WHC001/vouchers/pdf/WHS0769FourVouchers.pdf

Or use the voucher link, attached

Print the voucher out and take the 4th one into store, which is supposed to give you £5 off when you spend over £10 in store on a book. This is supposed to give you £5 off when you spend a tenner on ONE book (according to the voucher), so i didnt think it would work but i tried my luck and it went through, so i got the £5 off the total £12.50 and got both for £7.50 or you could say £3.75 each.

OR if you only wanted the dictionary, you can go to the weblink: http://www.whsmith.co.uk/CatalogAndSearch/ProductDetails-Collins+English+Dictionary+Large+Hardback+Edition-33279015.html and purchase it by itself for £6.25 (free delivery) or taking 8% quidco into account, it will work out to £5.75

I couldnt find the Thesaurus online.

Best of luck to all those who go instore to purchase these. These are subject to availability and when they are gone they are gone.

Just because there is a technology called the internet, it doesnt mean that dictionaries should become extinct. Thats like saying dont bother reading books, watch the dvd instead. As a student i made good use of the old dictionary as well as the internet. Each to their own, may be useful or useless, but as far as price is concerned, i havnt seen this cheaper and therefore regard this as a good deal. Just my opinion, and just trying to help others out :)

I buy more books now than I ever did, thanks TO the internet, but reference sources are FAR better on the internet.

That is a fact of modern life, where everything has been dumbed down - everyone ALWAYS tried to get away with what they could, just that in the past, we were all sharp enough to make sure work was NOT obvious plagiarism. It has never been easier to avoid now too, with computers! Just that kids have become so used to everything being dumb, and getting spoon fed, they have not worked out that it needs to look, scan & read totally different, even if the content is pretty much the same - they just want & expect it to be it TOO easy! :-(
