Seams a very good price for a colour cctv system.

good find

Voted hot. These sell on ebay for £50 plus delivery for the same one. Tempting to buy a few to sell on!

Especially good deal with the night mode led's

Good price. Not much more than an expensive door bell, is it? (Has intercom & Buzzer so will do that too)

Heat added.

They will sell out quickly.

Limited stock I expect.

Sorry but this is rubbish...we have just taken one back......the only thing it would be good for is over your door to see who is stood at the other side of your door. We bought it to cover our car ..and the view at night time was truly rubbish.....everything is blurry....and you can only just make out figures..neither use nor ornament when it comes to handing it over as evidence to the police if you ever needed to!!
At the end of the day you get what you pay for and this should be about 50p
We have just bought another one from maplins called the night owl £130 and that does what it says on the tin..so to speak!!!

isnt it illegal to record someones conversation so even if you did record someone in the act you would have to remove the sound before handing it in

@Floravada

Your comments are really appreciated on this cam. Did you get chance to check what quality the microphone was and at what distance it picks up? I were looking into buying one of these just for the sound as good quality mics are hard to find.

I would steer clear of these cheap camera's. I have just paid £800 to have my house done with 3 dome camera's which have a TV resolution and an operating distance of ~25 metres and even these are not too great at night. So this with a distance of 5m will be useless.

I'm no expert but i am pretty sure colour cameras are no good for night/ low light level conditions unless they switch themselves to black and white.

No.

Stay clear of cheap cameras for anything other than a door cam.

Yep mine do switch to black and white at night. Each of my camera's costs £~130, 540 TV lines, 1/3" Sony CCD lens, true day and night, no ****** LED's so I would be really surprised if these were any goofd at all. The installer put an LED Bullet camera as he was one dome short, even though the bullet camera had a decent lens and around 24 LED, the image at night was soooo poor, it was unbelievable, so this with a night distance of 5m and 12 LED will be useless. If you want to use it as a "dummy" camera to put people off or kind of scare them off from messing with your property they will be OK though and the site of a camera would probably deter the opportunistic criminals we have these days

If these cameras don't work well in low-light conditions, couldn't that be overcome by fitting some 500w outside lights? You can buy motion-triggered lights for only a tenner from Homebase, probably less elsewhere.

is there anyway these can record ?

You simply hook up the scart to a vcr / dvdr.
I`ve had one of these installed for over a year now {the earlier version without the PIR}, & its Brilliant !!
Sound & picture quality Very Good, but while its true that the inbuilt IR leds dont illuminate too much at night, we have it aimed down the drive which has another PIR light come on whenever anyone approaches, so the camera still gets a good picture.

You have to remember, your average dummy Camera can cost more than this beauty !!

When they sold them last year, there were still plenty available in the store a few weeks later.
Id vote it Hot if I knew where the "Hot" button was :whistling:

I bought mine yesterday - I'm well impressed with it. Good night vision and good daytime colour - must be hit and miss?

I bought one today hoping to link it up to a DVR but the pic quality was so awful compared to a "proper" CCD cam of which I have 2 x 420TVL ones(these Aldi ones must have lo-res cmos chips)
that it will be going back. Also if you want to record to a DVR you need a Scart to phono plug connector (which I tried unsuccessfully to use) so it will be going back tomorrow. It's OK if you just want to use it as a "see who's at the door" kinda thing tho'...
