This deal relates specifically to the Insight price for this printer, which is a good one that people might like to be aware of - the general Xerox offer has been posted, but not the Insight deal on the printer.

I bought this 6 months ago for £126 and I thought that was a good price since it includes a spare set of cartridges (which themselves cost about £120). I can recommend it - the only slight problem is it's size - it is BIG, and probably started life as a business, rather than a home, printer.

You're right - it is big. And I agree it probably started life as a business printer. That probably accounts for the excellent results it gives - and a remarkably good build quality too.

I've had mine a few months now, and it still impresses me every time I use it.

Any idea how long the toner cartriges last? I'm after a printer for kids' homework and stuff. Currently using Epson inkjet compats.

Never mind - saw it on the other thread.

Yeah, I can vouch for the really excellent print quality, and speed.

I haven't read the othere thread, but mine came with cartridges which last nominally 500 pages, and the free set are fiull capacity which should last a nominal 1000 pages. Depends of course what you print. In 6 weeks of use (not months as I said before) at an average of 1 page per day, the meters still show full capacity.

The reason I bought this was that my previous printer - a new xerox all in one, was cheap (and very good quality) but the cartridges cost around £30, and printed a very few pages - less than 100 I'd guess. Cheaper to dump the newish (and perfectly working) xerox and buy a laser (with extra free cartridges). (Xerox have got the aftermarket/refilled cartridges beaten, and only genuine cartridges work).

These were on offer last year from Insight for £64.60 http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/282477/xerox-phaser-6125v-n-colour-laser-p/
Great printer, The free cartridges take about 6 weeks to arrive.

That was several months ago with a code that they didn't intend to be used against this printer. It was a great deal (I got one!) but it's unlikely to happen again. A bit like waiting for a repeat of a once-in-a-lifetime sale bargain. ;-)

i have just been working out some figures as i need a new Colour laser and the initial spend is not that bad, however from a long term angle its not really a good deal in regards to the cost print per page.

On the 3rd party tonner, Page yield is 2000 at 5% coverage (1 x 23g toner). realistic coverage is around 10% - 12%.

Its worth buying if your not doing much printing... from my point of view there are better machince out there for a similar price with a less cost per page.

Rick, I am in the market for a low cost laser printer and would appreciate any advice on anything with a similar price. My need is for mostly black text with coloured header and logo.

Thanks

Check out the samsung CLP-310. It costs around £110 and you should be able to get refillable toner for it soon.

That deal goes to Xerox as a merchant, not insight as this deal does ? Unspammed - unless their is another deal link that has been listed for insight in the last month, thanks (different retailers may have different delivery rates, promotional codes, various cashback scheme links etc) :)

Is this not a single toner with three colours? So when magenta runs out, you have to chuck it? At £100 a pop (for 1,000 prints, it ain't cheap to run, is it.
