That's what I wanna know too, anyone?

2 looks to have a good score on metacritic

Not my kind of game but fancy giving it a shot
#5
bought them on Steam a while back and they strangely the 3rd one looks the worst on newer PC's.
#6
These games are rock hard but so fulfilling when you complete a level lol

do they not? bought these games last time but just upgraded to Win 7 and not downloaded them again yet.:(
#11
I was far too good at these games... I'd got into some Atari and Amiga games, but these were probably the first PC games I really took to. =)
#12
These games are fantastic. i think i got to level two and just give up but my word, they are great!
#13
2 is the best, followed by the 1st and the standalone expansion, mine work fine on steam, granted not from steam though
#14
I don't think I have the patience to try playing these again :p
#15
Didn't they make a version called Desperados that was very similar but set in the Wild West?

I seem to remember that being very good too.

Yep they did, twas a good game as well.

Awesome games desporados as a nice change, 2 was best imho and then 1/3. 3 has better graphic if you are of a more recent generation that only know the lights of cod you will not have the concentration needed :p

http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1331567 Fix to get these to work on Windows 7.
This is really tempting, I loved Commandos 1 but I've already spent £15 on Steam the past few days, I shouldn't spend any more. Oh well!
#19
I was actually looking at these games the other week, wanting to buy them for old sake and memories, but was put off by the price. So this sale has come along at the perfect time for me! Thank you Steam for making me spend another couple quid!!
#20
this may seem like a stupid question, but i've never used steam before...

how exactly does it work?

do i need to be constantly connected to the net to play the games?

cheers
#21
These are insanely difficult

Harder even than Jet Set Willy
#22
Ready 03

Well the system requirements don't seem to mention Win7...

Once downloaded you can play them without an active internet connection. They are also superbly simple to backup or re-download in the future.

The main drawback with Steam is that games are tied to your account and have no re-sale value.
I think the pros outweigh the cons as Steam is an excellent service.
#24
love steam, companies have jumped on the idea of games saved to accounts but steam do the full package - instant downloading of latest updates, forums and news for each game, achievements and stats, saved games stored on their servers and ofc the great steam sales.

download steam client and any game you buy is tied to your account - can be uninstalled and re-downloaded at whim, accessed from multiple computers (not sure how strict they are on this point but can be done) and played offline (though some games from other studios like EA sometimes have their own DRM, though less often than the disk versions)

loved commandos 1 but can't remember getting past 3rd level back when it came out :( 2 is worth a pop for a quid
#25
Great games, but don't try them if you're a modern 'I like to win on my first go' player.:{
#26
no, just buy it and it downloads and installs it for you. after that you can play while offline.
#27
oh excellent, thanks guys

think i'll sign up up get these and i play them on my emachine from ebuyer....i was one of the lucky ones :-D

i remember the first being nails though...."yes...sir" and "coming...sir"

think the french guy and his leathal injection was my fave character
#28
I enjoyed the first one and am tempted to give it another go,

... however on the Steam store..."Released 15 Mar 2007" is a tad misleading. They're about 10 years old aren't they?
