Now as much as I love the memory of the A500 and brand of Commodore and the fact you can choose a custom painted PC case, this is not a hot deal.

The specs are high, but then so is the price. A self built version ofthis would come in a lot cheaper.

However, becuase it is a Commodore I cannot bring myself to leave COLD feedback as it feels almost sacrilgious!
#2
Agreed. God knows how they came to that price for the spec, but I have fond memories of the old C64 and A1200. Still though, they aint gonna sell any of these at this price!
#3
I could buy the name and logo for 'Berni Inn' and open a steakhouse, but it wouldn't be the same, would it. This company has nothing to do with Commodore, the Vic 20, c64, Amiga, etc apart from their aquisition of the name.

Having said that, its a Commodore! I want one! They look great and for a premium price PC you do get a damn cool name, something the lads will be envious of. For that reason i'm voting it hot!
#4
This rating is yo -yo ing from positive to negative feedback!

So will the Atari + Speccy boys be able to leave more negative feedback than the Commodore kids can leave positive?
#5
lol @ jazid, i'd probably have negged this if it was a Spectrum! Where would they get the rubber keys from anyway!
#6
... and the BBC, Electron, Amstrad crowd.

And all 3 Oric owners (2 Oric 1s and an Atmos)
#7
Don't forget the MSX crew :p
#8
Oh yeah, sorry! 2 Toshibas and a Sony Hit-Bit :)

Don't really think this is anything special - I don't think a self build is a fair comparison as it's going to be cheaper than an off the shelf system in most cases. However you can get a prebuilt XPS system for a similar price with more choice in the specification.

Also this isn't a Commodore by any stretch of the imagination...this is coming from someone who currently has a C64 hooked up to his HDTV and 5.1 system!

Why not get your old A500's A1200s or 128s out and play some of the coolest games ever written again? If you dont have then get an emulator for your modern PC. My faveourites were F1 GP by Geoff Crammond, Indy500 by Papyrus, Prince of Persia, Lionheart and those two games that were the first to have morphing graphics, was one called Another World or something? Squidgy Aliens that used to move across the cieling and drop on you!

Built in? The one on offer doesn't come with one at all as far as I can see:giggle:

By the way, nice to see Ronnie Reagans old comp, you can tell it was his by the big red button;-)

why don't keyboards come with built in phones nowadays? Is it even a real phone- I can't see a rotary dialler anywhere? (proposes a workstation with built in toilet seat for optimum gaming experience)
