I should add that even though it is old, user reviews seem to regard this better than the most recent expansion.
I don't believe it requires the original game to run ( I could be wrong of course).

even if the 3rd expansion is buggy. theyre not going to release a new game? theyll just release a patch and by the sounds of it...very soon indeed.

so its still better value to get the anthology no?

From what I've read, the 3rd release screws up stability of the game engine, so that is why I am avoiding it at the moment.

I could wait for the patch( but then ive also been waiting a while for the next duke nukem).
Imo, worth buying if you have the first game(company of heroes).
If you haven't got any coh games, then buying the anthology is worthwhile, but I'd wait to buy it until after a patch is released
(See reviews of the 3rd game on amazon if you like reading rants)

But each to their own. I was just highlighting the best instock price I have seen this for (been looking for a while). There also seemed to be a few on the shelf too ( but then its not gaming weather!)

Whichever you buy, its by far the best RTS I have played on the pc to date!

Agreed.
Your right, it's a standalone expansion.

From wikipedia-
"Those who own both games can either play as the Americans or the British against the Wehrmacht or the Panzer Elite. Those who purchase Opposing Fronts without owning the original Company of Heroes, can only play as the British and Panzer Elite armies."

lol dont compare duke nukem. thats an actual FPS game, this just needs a patch fix

you are right though, i wwasnt having a go, and i just went to watch a vid review of this game again just to check out how good it is....and its EXCELLENT!!

EVEN as a standalone, at a 5iver you cannot go wrong and would be a fool to miss it!!
cheers for the deal

wasn't only me who had the problems with the new one then?, btw they have already patched it TWICE and still kept locking up, found a change from ati 3870 to a nvidia 8800gts stopped it locking tho.
