DO NOT bother to buy 'Refurb' as PCWorld/Currys seem simply to reinstall Windows on faulty/returned systems and once you contact their support they will try to pass you onto their Techguys (other company) to upsell you more etc., or try to credit RATHER than refund a DOA (Dead On Delivery) system.
Ordered 3 of these refurb and they lasted less than 24hrs before returning them - plus you get no software, no documention, just a worn out laptop in a brown box - They should be described as 2nd hand with used parts in them and freshly installed Windows.

:-D:-D sounds like he had a bad experience..

a mixed experience for me.i bought a compaq 560em from dixons for £215 a few weeks ago.
received it in 3 days fired it up and was well pleased, great spec really nice screen and it located and connected to my wireless router in seconds,so all was all great but then i tried typing an email address and discovered the @ button and 3 others didnt work!!!

anyway phoned dixons up and they picked it up next day and had it back to me in 6 days with a brand new keyboard and its been fine since.
if it carries on working i have got a bargain and if it not i guess i will be using the warranty.

you do take more of a chance with these no doubt but they can be a great deal if your on a tight budget..

i would be looking for one nearer £200 than £250 though.

Got this exact laptop myself a couple of months ago, great little laptop.

Don't see it as a chance to be honest. If theres something wrong with one you receive send it back. I've never been put through to Techguys or had anyone try and sell me upgrades or replacements.

I've done this before on other refurb products from Dixons, absolutely no issues.

Hope this helps
