With a Blu-Ray drive, it's OK.
Don't worry about people knocking the Celeron, it's not quite as good as Core 2 or i3, but it'll do most things needed in a lightly used computer.
Blu-Ray really needs to be watched on large 1080p televisions rather than small monitors. If you're using this machine on the television in the main room for some browsing and then watching films, then it's fine if you're happy using it like that.

thanks for your advice on this, I was going to buy the Acer for £299.99 from tesco but I have had very bad experiences in the past with this brand and don't trust them. I also didn't want the monitor as I will be hooking this PC upto my 1080p 42" TV.

would've been a good price for blu-ray but 30 seconds searching found this-
http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/uk/en/ho/WF06b/12454-12454-3329737-89304-89304-4079828-4108244.html

so it looks like it aint got it.
only £300 on that site as well

Reading the description from the Tesco site it declares that the optical drive is Blu-Ray compatible and this can only mean that it can read those discs.
Compaq has this machine at an SRP of £300, so Tesco's price would seem to include the machine plus a Blu-Ray reader.

It does seem a little strange that the description doesn't include any mention of the machine having a Blu-Ray drive, as it seems to be a major selling point. I would check to make sure that the computer can read Blu-Ray discs or immediately bring this to the attention of Tesco and ask for a refund (Goods not as described).
Make sure you get a full refund and not a credit note or a partial recompense as it makes things much cleaner in a legal sense if you just draw a line under the whole matter.
