Why does this keep getting reposted by different people?

is this the 110 or 110c

Good deal, excellent netbook but was previously posted. £199 in Tesco. HP version about £249 most places but has 6 cell, Win7 and some other upgrades.

It may be against the rules but I think a reminder does no harm on such a good deal.

Anyone know a good source of 6 cell battery - the ones I've found are about £50!

I don't know about a good source but there are some on ebay for £30.

There was a quite long previous thread about this netbook - someone may well have recommended a 6 cell battery there.

im in two mind whether to get this deal and look for a six cell battery or plump for the Asus 1008ha deal, still on for 200 quid. Whats better?

Go for the 1008ha deal. Product seems nicer and has n wifi.

Can't directly compare but having bought the Compaq I'd say it would be hard to beat for £179. Great screen and keyboard and does everything you could reasonably expect from a netbook. After all, none of them should be considered laptop replacements for serious work.

Just to make it a bit more difficult to decide - I picked up the 6 cell version of this from Amazon at the weekend for £199 (mini 110c) - its gone up by one quid today.

Ive upgraded to 2Gb memory & put windows7 on mine, which it runs nicely - Nice keyboard, ok screen, built in webcam is ok. Fine for web browsing etc.

I didnt get the Asus because I wanted a built in card reader that would read Fuji XD cards + easy access to the memory slot, I cant imagine that theres much difference in the performance.

mmm tough, how are they for iplayer and films? Also how long does the battery last on the six cell? cheers

Well mysteriously when I click on the link I posted above I get the cheaper price (although its now £202) but it also shows what appears to be the same model at the £239 price. Very odd - I wouldn't be 100% surprised to discover that the cheaper one is actually for returned items, since there is a big grubby thumb print in the middle of the screen (although the box was sealed & everything seems to be there). It deffo has the big battery though, 'cos it sticks out the bottom.

Can't comment on battery life - I would guess 4-5 hours of web & wireless but it really depends on what you are doing ; it plays my test divx movies fine, but again its going to depend on the resolution & what else its doing ; the CPU will struggle with anything too complicated.

Its fine for what I want it for - to take traveling so I can leave the big 17" laptop-workstation at home.

The asus is a much better machine, only downside is the battery is built in

It's not that tough. They all pretty much do the same thing at this price point. They are good for iplayer.
