strange screen rez 1024: 576 normally 600 great price though just googled it comes out as 1024 600 seems good netbook battery could be better but for £170 cant complain

Looking for a netbook myself but although the price is good (no denying that) it's limited to 1gb RAM and probably not great battery life compared to others that are a bit more.

Looking at the ASUS 1005P but it's a fair bit more than this one. :p

Good find anyway.

got one of these, battery life ok for a 3 cell battery probably 2-2.5 hours max
spares availablility seems poor , been trying to source a new keyboard and not even HP still sell (some poor chinese copies floating around)
would probably keep it if I could fix the keyboard though...

Good deal - I picked an "ex-display" one of these up in Tesco Bradley Stoke for £132 on Sunday - they currently have 20% off all ex-display laptops - not sure if this is nationwide.

Stick with the Asus 1005p .... the battery life, in general use is about 6-7 hours (11 Hours quoted)

A netbook is meant to be mobile, therefore good battery life is essential. This model will probably only last 2 hours or so, as it has a 3 cell battery.

Also .... Asus build quality is much better.

Agreed, but it is more expensive.

good deal but..
576lines? i had trouble surfing the net using original netbooks with 1024x600 lines. thats alot of scrolling. I personally prefer the 1366 x 768 11.6" netbooks. the minimum line for any display should be 768 now. how many people agree with me? thats my opinion :-D

The Asus 1005p is currently £199 at Argos (if in stock)

A good price for this though.
#11
As mentioned, 1024 x 576 is lower than low - and 2.5 hours battery life is poor.

It's cheap ... but you get what you pay for. I'd steer clear of this machine.

Why do people on here make such generalisations! Just because battery life is important to you doesn't mean it is to everyone. My netbook never leaves my lounge.

I completely agree after trying to use the net on a Acer Aspire One and then using the net on a mates 11.6 screen. It makes a huge difference viewing web pages.

Anyone know of any good 11.6 inch deals?

Not a bad price by the way for a 10 inch screen.

I can confirm that the resolution is 1024 * 600, regardless what the specs say.
I have one of these from the last time there was an offer (about £180 from Carphone Warehouse).

The battery doesn't last long - about 2.5 hours max, but otherwise this is a solid reliable netbook from HP.
The keyboard is fanatastic and feels just right.

At this price, this is a bargain.

I've had one of these netbooks for over 12mths now. It's get's thrown in the car for work emails in motorway services or parking outside McDonalds to access free WiFi. My 7 yr old surfs the net and WIfey can be found updating facebook on it. Bluetoothed to a wireless speaker it will provide Spotify tunes anywhere, anytime.

Can't fault my mini 110c. It's robust, a good spec and at £169 it's not expensive...

I haven't voted either way but I think the MSI wind u100 plus I got from Maplin for £185 (with voucher code posted on this very forum) http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/699516/msi-wind-u100-plus-n280-cpu-wireles a couple weeks ago was a far better deal.

It has the better n280 processor, 6 cell battery, wireless n and bluetooth as well the more common 1024x600 resolution, which in my opinion are well worth the £15 price difference compared to his deal. I am though assuming that the MSi's are no longer available at that price and hence my non-vote
