Sounds like an amazing price.
I wonder if there is a catch of some kind?
#17
I was looking for a small netbook, so I went and bought one of these from my local carphone warehouse store - they didn't have any on display, nor any mention of the deal in-store, but when I asked an assistant, they brought one out of the back.
First impressions are very positive - it looks a good deal with no catch.

Thanks to brookheather for spotting this

where is your local store mate?

Cracking Deal as far as I can see. The next best price is around £230.
Ordered one this afternoon and it's with DHL already to be delivered tomorrow.
Checked the HP equivalent out at PCWorld at the weekend (essentially the same) and the build quality, display and keyboard are far superior to my daughters Acer One.

QuidCo tracked straight away at £8.95 as well, so £170 for a well built windows based netbook - I don't think you'll find anything cheaper at the moment unless it's a refurb.

H&R for the origianl poster..:-D

I'm sorely tempted by this, but want to buy the Sony VAIO W11S1E for £299 from Sainsburys or Argos, but the £130 price difference is pretty immense :(

What a great deal!

Might sell my Dell Mini 9 and get this! Only just got the Dell mini 9 last week but tempted by the 160GB hard drive!

I don't think you can turn these into hackintosh like the dell.
#24
That's an absolute bargain considering it has XP too!

I've got the HP 2133 and the keyboard is immense. This is a similar keyboard but in black
#25
Can this be used to do normal student work

got 1 no BT no WWAN but still good deal

Great laptops, probably being reduced in price because they're being made slightly outdated by the newer chipsets coming in as we speak:
http://gizmodo.com/5438681/hps-pine-trail+equipped-mini-210-hd-and-friends-leak-before-ces

However, in themselves they're great netbooks, market leading keyboard size and good build quality. Standard netbook spec, ie no Ion graphics chip etc, and external styling is down to personal taste, but nice netbooks.

I was going to get one, but went with a much more comfortable 12 inch MSI U210 from the States. Anyone intending to do long bouts of work on a laptop should really consider a 12 inch. I have the 10 inch MSI also, and you can really get a good deal more done on a bigger screen.

Mini 110 is compatible with Wireless Wide Area Networks (WWAN)
#29
You can install OS X on these, not as straightforward as the Dell Mini 9 but look on http://myhpmini.com/forum/ for guides.
#30
Thank you for the advice
#31
great post - nearly spent £220+ on an ACER 531 yesterday. this is same spec but cheaper, just what I was looking for - ORDERED
#32
I was going to get one of these, but the only problem with this model is the battery life is dire. The keyboard is immense though even when compared to the samsung NC10.

many thanks mate - definately hot at this price. ordered one. Much better then dell mini 9 around similar price as this. Has bigger screen and 160gb hard drive.
Can always a approx £2 mini bluetooth on there if you need BT.
I believe there is a 6 cell baterry for this - might look into that for better battery life!!

3 cell bettery nearly 3 hours

Hot Hot Hot!!
Got this one just now, and it definitely does the job and more for the price.
Ordered something similar from PC World (Dell mini 9), but they never sent it. Screw you PC World.

has anyone been able to source a decent sleeve for this and maybe a 6 cell battery?
cheers
