Extra memory options (note may be able to get cheaper than this).

EDIT: contradcits the blurb which says 1GB/1 slot maximium.

Single core Atom, no HD graphics (big down point for me), 1GB ram.

On the plus point £15.26 Quidco.

So if your just looking for a basic leave on all day machine for simple tasks this will be great.

Thanks - have amended post :)

Nice find OP :) - definitely a lot cheaper than from the other places out there, as the second cheapest is at Amazon UK for £260.00p.

Most use you can get out of this is facebook and something to leave on constantly to download hundreds of GBs worth of torrents. Not that I encourage the latter of course ;)

HOT! I would say that is the perfect low budget office computer. Note that they got it right where it counts, 160 GB SATA 3G Hard Disk Drive (7200 rpm).

Many Nettops use those super slow 2.5" 5400rpm laptop hard drives.

would it be easy to add more ram to this?

What does this mean?

'This system may require upgraded and/or separately purchased hardware and/or a DVD drive to install the Windows 7 software and take full advantage of Windows 7 functionality.'

Any ideas? Thanks in advance

Description says "1 DIMM socket" which contradcits what crucial.com/uk says. Strange. We need somebody that has one of these to comment (or a review)...

The upgrade and service manual is available here.

Clearly shows two So-Dimm slots on top of each other. Also the hard drive looks like a 3.5" one, so upgrade with a nice (faster) 1TB Samsung Spinpoint F3 will be dead simple.

Shame it's not a dual core Atom, that would make it perfect.

48cm high by the looks of it. Too big to go on a kitchen counter top and no freeview so it cant double as a tv. Very cheap for what it is, great for email, web facebook etc.

The lack of Freeview can be cured with a £10 USB TV stick off FleaBay.

Yes (see pics above), as easy as adding RAM to a laptop. e.g. http://www.crucial.com/uk/store/listparts.aspx?model=Presario%20All-in-One%20SG2-210UK

Agree 8) - it's a tempting buy for my folks, as there old desktop computer is giving up the ghost and this would be more than enough for their needs.

I think it's a typo - Windows should already be installed and all you'll need to worry about is creating a recovery DVD (the physical DVD writer drive is present according to the specs) for restoring the computer in the event of an OS or hard disk failure (HP hasn't been providing much in the way of actual physical DVD media for their hardware).

That's what I think 8)

For a second then, i was hoping it was touch screen so that I could custom fit it to work as an epos system. Oh well, hot anyway!
#25
Very tempted by this, though don't need it as we've a desktop already we don't use. But the idea of an all in one for nothing too demanding sounds great and this price is HOT. As usual, cheap because it lacks some guts, but as others have said, whack an extra bit of RAM in and upgrade the HD when you can be bothered and it'll fly enough for Spotify, Facebook, YouTube, the odd DVD ...

I bought one yesterday and it came today! I've just set it up and am pleasantly surprised. It boots quickly - runs office fine and comes with a 1 year subscription to norton antivirus which is worth about £20.

The screen is nice and big and has the base unit integrated so is good for those who lack space. Has wireless and a webcam and skype preinstalled.

this is almost exactly the kind of thing I am looking for but it does noy have HDMI output which i really would like and i din't notice a dvd burner. How much more would i expect topay fpr a stand alone like this with HDMI outputa nad a dvd player. Even better would be blue ray player/burner.

It does come with a DVD writer - as copied from the info listed by the OP.

Optical drives Slim-tray DVD writer SATA DVD RAM and Double Layer supporting LightScribe technology

With regards to integrated HDMI output, you would probably be looking at more of the medium to high level all-in-one units out there i.e. Dell or Lenovo.
