Too expensive for a laptop with a celeron processor

As far as I can tell the basic Inspiron 15 comes with the Celeron T3000 processor for around a similar price, but the big advantage for me is that this includes HDMI which most of the lower end machines don't.

If you want a Dell with HDMI you are looking at the Dell Studio 15 which is another £100.

How well would this run the Sims 2?

If you check its benchmark performance, it actually isn't too shabby at all, and 2 weeks ago it was IMO the cheapest decent budget brand model with HDMI that you could get in regular /steady supply. I haven't looked in detail recently, because I bought then. My model had 3GB and 320GB HDD for £379.
If you want HDMI and don't want Acer, I think this model takes some beating. I think its chassis and keyboard are better than the equivalent Toshibas

I've been looking for the past 2-3 weeks and I certainly think this is the best option I have come across.

My machine will mainly be used by kids, but I did want something with HDMI for when I want to download something on iplayer and watch it back in high definition.

I just checked and I lied. This is exactly the same spec that I paid £379 for 2 weeks ago, so in my view this is the best deal around if you want HDMI.

I've finally ordered mine today.

£399 with 10% code = £359

Quidco tracked at £29, so hopefully will be looking at £330.
